    Hi saharabravo3,

Thank yu for your reply. You may try to reset the unit by following these steps:

    1. Unplug the power cable.

    2. Wait for 2-3 minutes then, plug it back again.

    3. Turn the unit on.

    4. If after turning the machine on and still the INIT/Please Wait message appeared you have to:

Press and hold the Tune Mode (STOP) button at the same time the # 10 from your remote control, simultaneously for 10 seconds. Wait until the error message disappears.

    5. After clearing the message, restart the machine through the on/off button.

    6. If the message was not cleared try to the whole process for several times.

In any case that resetting does not work for your machine it can be caused by a jammed disc. To remove the jammed disc, remove the top by removing the screws and then you can remove the stuck/jammed discs. And in any instance that there's no jammed disc any inside the machine you will need to contact a local technician who can look inside the machine to check the mechanism or better if you call Panasonic's support at 1800-211-7262.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

Dvd tray will not open

Sounds like it's jammed it self up, if you got finger nails try pulling the front on the dvd drive as you push the open button, otherwise look for a little tool of some sort to wedge in the front of the dvd drive to give it alittle movement as you press the open button, it may need a bit, just be careful not to break it lol , if still no luck unscrew the sides and back if it has screws at the back , lift the top off , and push the dvd drive from in there , that will atleast get the disk out, and lets hope solve future problems ,

I have satellite C50D-B-10q. How do I open the CD/DVD drive?

Removing discs
To remove the disc, follow the steps as detailed below:
Do not press the eject button while the computer is accessing the optical disc drive. Wait for the optical disc drive indicator to go out before you open the disc tray. Also, if the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, wait for it to stop before you remove it.
1. To pop the disc tray partially open, press the eject button. Gently pull the disc tray out until it is fully opened. When the disc tray pops open slightly, wait a moment to make sure the disc has stopped spinning before pulling the disc tray fully open.
2. The disc extends slightly over the sides of the disc tray so you can grasp it. Gently lift out the disc.
3. Push the center of the disc tray to close it. Press gently until it locks into place.

How to remove disc when the disc tray will not open:
Pressing the eject button will not open the disc tray when the computer power is off. If the power is off, you can open the disc tray by inserting a slender object (about 20 mm) such as a traightened paper clip into the manual eject hole near the eject button.

Manual eject hole:
Turn off the power before you use the manual eject hole. If the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, the disc could fly off the spindle and cause injury.

Hi - the CD tray cannot open. It is empty - no CDs in there. I hear a buzz, but an "error" message comes on. I tried pushing on the tray while turning on; I unplgged the CD player, I put it on...

The loading tray belt has more than likely stretched or snapped.
The buzzing you hear will be the motor spinning freely.
The 'ERROR' message will show up because the tray isn't opening
and activating the 'tray open' switch, therefore the 'tray closed' switch
is permanently activated after the 'open/close button is pressed.

Does not play when disc entered nor when play is selected. (XD-E500KB)

Hello

Push in the plug connected to the "Video Out" jack on the rear of the Dvd to ensure it is connected firmly. Check the connection at the back of the TV as well.

Press the "Source" or "Input" button on the TV remote to verify the television's input is set to the DVD connection.

Press the "open/close" button on the front of the DVD to open the disc tray. Insert and test different DVDs to determine if the problem is with a specific disc, or if the player will not operate.

Eject the DVD tray and insert the DVD laser lens cleaner. Close the tray and wait a few seconds for the cleaning disc to load. Press "Play" on the front control panel to spin the disc through the cleaning cycle.

Remove the cleaning disc, insert a DVD and test playback operation. If the machine still will not play discs, the main receiver unit may require internal repairs best left to an experienced technician.

Playstation 2 problem

I wonder have you dropped your machine..??=) or has the tray been pulled on when its out.. because there is a plastic strip with teeth that it runs on try pushing the open/close button and pushing in on the tray. it might try to open back up on ya but just press the button again and push in on the tray...if the tray is pulled out past that point you will have to lift up on the tray and push it in at the same time with a little force to get it back on track..
