Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If all you can see is a white screen on the monitor this can be an issue with the graphic card or the LCD of the computer. Since this is an All-In-One we can't check which one is causing the issue because opening the case might void the warranty or cause more problem if your not familiar with the parts. Best thing to do is to check the warranty and have it serviced so that the defective part will be replaced.

Thanks for using Fixya

Plug in a monitor to the VGA connector on the side. The white screen usually indicates a failed inverter. By using an external monitor you will cut down the likely causes.

Samsung S27B350 monitor intermittently goes black and has a constant flutter. Could this be a capacitor problem.

I think I have the solution for this. I just purchased a monitor and it immediately began to flicker and then blank the screen. I pulled it apart, but to no avail.
The problem is caused by the computer powering down the monitor, for example a laptop will power down the monitor to save battery life. It is the awakening of the monitor that causes the flickering. Obviously there is a software bug in the firmware that will not allow it to synch properly. The fix is pretty obvious, just stop the computer from powering down the monitor. You can still blank the screen using a screen saver, which is what I have done, but you are not getting the full power saving.
I hope this helps someone else - it drove me crazy for a day or so.

It could be a loose video or power cable going to the monitor. If you hear no sound coming from the computer and its power light is off, check the power connection and breaker or fuse. Video Cable Many times the cause of monitor blackouts is a loose video cable connection. This might happen if you move the monitor or the cable. The video cable runs from the back of the computer to the monitor. It has a multi-pin connector on each end and both of them screw down securely. If the screws aren't tight, either connector could become loose. If that happens, the video signal could stop suddenly and make the picture go blank. Check both ends of the connector to make sure they're firmly seated and the screws are tight. The cable itself might be bad. This is unlikely, but possible. b> Display Power The monitor must have power. If the power light isn't lit on the monitor, it may have been turned off or become unplugged. Press the power button to make sure it wasn't accidentally turned off. Make sure the monitor is plugged in. If it's connected to a power strip, check that the power strip is on. If that checks out, unplug the monitor and try a different outlet. Power strip sockets can sometimes fail. Flat-screen monitors may have a power-brick-style adapter. It, too, has connectors. Follow the power cable from the monitor's power plug back to the monitor. About halfway up you'll find a thick rectangular plastic brick. The power goes into a modular-style equipment socket. This can become loose. Follow the wire the rest of the way to the monitor. It connects to the back of the screen with a small round plug. Check that it's firmly plugged in. If everything's plugged in right and the power light on the monitor's still off, the power brick might be bad. b> Video Card Some computers have a separate video card inside. It may come loose and cause a blank screen. If this is the case, open the computer and inspect the video card. Sometimes removing and reseating the card will fix the problem. If it has to be replaced, most video cards are not expensive.

LG L222WS half bottom screen white

There is a problem with the capacitors in your monitor. This is a normal problem these days with flat screen monitors, I am trying to find out why it is always like tha. This will normally be caused by improper shut down or power fluctuations in your monitor. Capacitrs in your monitor are responsible for holding down the power from the supply, fr the proper display on your monitor. If a capacitor is damaged, or buldged, it no longer holds power long enough for your display, and that is why your screen goes black after a few seconds. This can be solved by opening up your monitor, using a sharp and flat object, opening it starting from the bottom working your way up until the cover is completely out. You will notice finger-like clips that are holding the two covers together. Once you are done, check on the circut board where you connect the power cable.... that is where you are going to find the damaged capacitor(s). You can identify them by noting their bulged head or if there is any liquid coming out of it. Before you replace the, take note of the polarity (+) and (-) so that whenever you replace with the new one it is in the same direction. This will fix up your problem. Note: make sure you let a Computer Technician to do this for you, unless you can do it yourself without damaging the monitor. Thank you

Montor shows a blank white screen and is unresponsive

Please try to connect the monitor to another PC, if it continues to happen, then probably an internal electronic part/s of your monitor is cold soldered / defective which failed to send signal to other hardware parts of your monitor thus you only see white display. I suggest to bring the unit to an authorized service center fix / replace the cold soldered / defective part/s. regards

Blank screen for 15-20 minutes at startup

I have a Xerox XA7-19i. It has the same problem as described by many others - intermittent fault with the display that manifests as a white screen when the monitor is first switched on. After a few trys of switching on and off, the monitor works fine until left off for a few hours. Recently, the problem deteriorated to no light from the panel, and a flashing blue power light.

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED MY MONITOR:

I opened up my monitor and removed the power supply board.
I de-soldered every electrolytic capacitor, and replaced them with new capacitors of the same uF and voltage rating.
I put the monitor back together again and switched it on - it worked perfectly!

Yes - these monitors have been built using sub-standard / under-rated electrolytic capacitors. After two years of use, the power supply board was unable to supply enough power to the logic board and backlight, causing the above-mentioned problems.

The repair cost me ~ GBP 15 (USD $30). It is not a difficult fix, but one only to be attempted if you have electronics knowledge. Careful, kids! you'd be playing with the power supply of a mains AC electronic device. That stuff can kill.

But - I saved myself (and the environment) from having to throw out a monitor and buy a new one. If you have a faulty xerox monitor and are getting no love from Xerox customer support, find an electronics geek and ask them to replace the electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board. (but be careful to get the right kind of capacitors, and to get the capacitor polarity correct. If you have any doubt as to you ability to do this, don't bother trying!).

Good luck!
