I'm using the laptop with extended display off the G2210 Dell monitor. However, the G2210 has a popup that says "Entering Safe mode" and the screen stays black. How do I fix this?

Re-boot the laptop. Verify that the "POST" operation comes on during the restart - if not then you have a graphics issue in the laptop.

It is very possible, software not included, it happens like microsoft and their new progs, somehow they miss old friends of until we complain.

Try a download update.

Try a roll back of the Graphics driver. Have you done any Graphic Updates? Install the driver from the DELL or Windows Update website. Does it work with a external monitor? When you boot in safe mode your machine uses the Basis graphics driver. Is the monitor OK when you boot in safe mode?

Usually the external monitor and laptop screen toggles in one of three states.
LCD only
External monitor only
Both LCD and external monitor
Wait a couple of seconds between when you press Fn F8
This model laptop may not allow ectended display.

check your system vga out put is working or not, conform this by connecting another monitor or connect monitor to another computer.

I hope you have got your screen beack, if not try to restart your computer in safe mode.
The restarting can be done in the following way:
1. Click START, click TURN OFF COMPUTER, and then click RESTART
2. While the computer is starting, press and hold down the F8 key until the Startup Menu appears
3 Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW to select Safe Mode, press ENTER.
Now to the display settings
1 Open Display Properties in Control Panel
2 Click the Settings tab
3 If for some reason you are not in safe mode go through following:
In Colour quality, clock to alower settiing
Move Screen Resolution slider to the left if you want to reducethe size of the desktop
To Refresh frequency click Advanced and check the Adapter and Monitor.
4 After you have made your changes click OK
restart the computer if you are told to do so. But do not do it in safe mode..

1. Switch off both devices.

3. Now switch on Laptop (As you mentioned its dell)

4. Now switch on TV or monitor.

If you are Using Windows 7 then follow these settings after above troubleshooting steps

1. Click "Start," access the "Control Panel" and then select "Appearance and Personalization." Find the option that says "Adjust Screen Resolution" and click once. A small window displays with two monitors labeled "1" and "2."
   
2. Click on the "Identify" icon and a large "1" appears on one monitor while a large "2" appears on the other.
   
3. Select the drop-down menu next to "Multiple Displays." Select the "Extend these displays" and click apply. The desktop is now extended. Adjust the "Resolution" and "Orientation" to complete the customization.
   
4. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display (You can choose magnification of your screen. (Medium-100 % recommended) check and set it to medium.
