First start with very basic
Troubleshooting steps
1. Switch
off both devices.
2. Make
connections S-Videos
3. Now
switch on Laptop (As you mentioned its dell)
4. Now
switch on TV or monitor.
5. Now
hold (fn key) and simultaneously press f8 or f7) f8 for dell. (key which
contains display icon on it).
6. Fn
and f8 key helps in toggling displays in 3 modes-
7. Laptop
display
8. Monitor
/TV display
9. Both
of displays
If you are Using Windows 7 then
follow these settings after above troubleshooting steps
- Click "Start," access the
"Control Panel" and then select "Appearance and
Personalization." Find the option that says "Adjust Screen
Resolution" and click once. A small window displays with two monitors
labeled "1" and "2."
- Click on the "Identify" icon and a
large "1" appears on one monitor while a large "2" appears
on the other.
- Select the drop-down menu next to
"Multiple Displays." Select the "Extend these displays" and
click apply. The desktop is now extended. Adjust the "Resolution" and
"Orientation" to complete the customization.
- Control Panel\All Control Panel
Items\Display (You can choose magnification of your screen. (Medium-100 %
recommended) check and set it to medium.
