Hi, are you talking about the colors of the head unit wires or the car wires? Please tell me your car model and year.

    Here are the colors I have for your car pasted below--do these match what you see?

    And you should be connecting the stereo red wire to the car's yellow wire with red stripe--yes?
    Also connect the black to black
    Also connect the stereo's yellow wire to the car's blue wire with a white stripe. Does this make sense?

    2003 Civic wire colors:
    Car Radio Constant 12v+ Wire: Blue/White

    Car Radio Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow/Red

    Car Radio Ground Wire: Black

    Car Radio Illumination Wire: Red/Black

    Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Green

    Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray/Black

    Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red/Green

    Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Black

    Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Yellow

    Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray/White

    Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red/Yellow

    Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/White

Do you need to connect the yellow and red wires together if not used in a car on a pioneer DEH-X1950UB

Yellow - Connect to the constant 12 V supply terminal.
Red - Connect to terminal controlled by the ignition switch (12 V DC).

I need the pinout looking at the back of the cd player

Most use:
BLK=Ground (-12V),
YEL=Constant (+12V)
RED=Ignition Switched (+12V)
ORG=Illumination (likely 0 to +12V)

My Pioneer DEH-P4200UB Won't power up in my 97 mustang gt. The car recently had a kenwood deck that we took out. we are still using the kenwoods wires. Help us lol

Please verify voltage at the constant (Yellow) wire With the ignition OFF
Then Turn the Key to ACC and verify voltage on the RED wire.
Double check the ground to chassis metal.

The radio should power on at this point if both power wires show 10-14.4VDC
If not - your radio needs repair.

The radio will not hold memory

If your radio will not hold memory then you are lacking a constant 12 volt power source. Check the yellow and red wires at the radio. The yellow wire should be connected to a constant 12 volt power source (battery) and the red wire should be connected to a switch 12 volt power source (accessory or ignition).

Have a pioneer car radio model deh-p3100ub has power and good grd. it will not turn on is there a reset. fuse is good

do you have power going to both the red and yellow wires??? yellow is constant power (to retain memory) and red is switched (ignition). both wires need to see power before the unit will turn on.

I have a 98 ford winstar I'm installing a pioneer

You'll need to check that you have the yellow wire connected to constant battery, power from battery, not thru the ignition switch. The yellow wire is the power wire for the clock and radio presets.

I need wiring color coding 4 pioneer deh 2050mpg? i know red is constant power.

Not to question you about the red being constant power but I have a pioneer deh-1600 car stereo and red is hooked to electric terminal controlled by ignition switch (on/off) and if your unit has a yellow wire that goes to constant power. The only problem with hooking up the red wire to constant would be if you happened to accidentally leave your player on it could drain the battery. Hope this helped a little. Good luck.
