Many thanks, but have already done this - sometimes it only lasts for ten minutes, then looses connection again. Any other suggestions would be very welcome. Have cable with modem which have also restarted every time it goes off. Once again thankyou.

Because the wifi signal isn't strong enough or because your tablet is electronically faulty.

I keep loosing data connection - please give me easy to follow instructions

If it is data over wifi you need to stay within the wifi zone. This will be closest to the transmitter router. For instance, if you are at MacDonalds using their wifi and then you are walking to Starbucks, you are going to lose the wifi signal between them until you get to Starbucks.

If it is on LTE or 3G, not in a wifi area, you need to complain to your cellphone carrier who provide your service.

Netgear wifi router

1) does it lock up completely or will it work hard lined when wifi fails?
2) do all devices wireless fail or just a single device?
3) do you lose connection to the wireless completely or keep the connection but lose access to the internet? (confusing but very different to me)

in the end you could narrow down the problem but if you have already reset to factory defaults and set back up again and again then it may be time to retire that old router.
