How do i repair the connector

Many connectors can be repaired on high end headsets. I do not know this model, but try to take it apart. (I've done hundreds) Look for plastic covers over screw heads that can easily be removed. Go slow, save all parts. Assuming you can get it apart, it will require
re aligning the pins for everything to fit together properly. A critical headset like this, you should have a cord ( if available) in reserve. I would recommend an entire spare headset.

Kenwood tr 9130

http://myradio.piczo.com/microphoneplugandsocketpinouts?c
states that the pinout is as follows.
I believe this is a semi standard connector that you can find at "some" radio shacks. If not you can take any Kenwood mic and soldier the wires to the old plug.
If you want a new connector try Mouser or Allied.

Need discontenued tel patch plug for kenwood tr-9000 part # E09-0471-05

Hi David,

I'm not sure of what this part is, but Kenwood is a very good Make, so I suggest the following: join yahoo group Specific to your radio Make & Model No., the team there will require as much info from you as possible, so they can help you, you can also download manuals, diagrams and other goodies for your radio(if available), and all this is free.

I hope this has helped you and good luck with the plug.

Cheers,
Peter

Fixing kenwood tk-80

If you have the schematics try to follow the voltage lines with a volt meter. If this is beyond your capabilities then I would suggest taking the radio to a service center or sending the radio to Kenwood.

Remote control cable

Within the same manual, you'll find a section that may say: Additional Accessories.
The cable should be listed as an accessory item to order.
Contact Kenwood and ask them how to order the cable.

I recently received a really nice R600 Kenwood.

Hi Doug,

To my knowledge, the Kenwood R600 straight from the box runs only on AC power hence no DC jacks.

However, there is a DCK-1 accessory which is a DC cord kit for this receiver.

Alternately, the secondary output of the transformer is 14VAC which is feed to the bridge diode of the power supply on the PLL unit/board. With that in mind, it would then be OK to hardwire 13.8VDC right after the bridge diode and parallel to the big filter capacitor. It may be a good idea to put an inline reverse protection diode and a fuse. Of course any DC type of jack/plug combination/arrangement may also be used.

Additionally, you might be interested in a service manual for the Kenwood R600 which is available here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Kenwood ts-450s - cannot tune and no ptt

This is usually due to a stuck or shorted ptt line. I have repaired a couple of these and it was the same component each time. The packet TX transistor Q65 shorted causing the radio to power up in TX inhibit mode. Transistor Q65 is located on the underside of the IF board under the ACC 2 connector. This switching transistor is used only for tx (pin 9 of acc 2) and no other circuits depend on it. It can be removed completely if you don't mind not having ptt on acc 2.
This seems to be a common problem lately, I hope this helps you.

Regulated dc power supply

If it is fused at 10 amps, then any power supply 8 amps or greater should be adequate.
