Question about Philips Televison & Video

Philips HTS3154 Theater System. The redlight by the standby button flashes on/off continuously and depressing the standby button will not get the machine to turn on. Like wise the remote control will not switch on / power up the system. The television was also flashing on and off until I disconnected the scart from the Theater System to the TV, which then operated normally.

All speaker wires are as they were before the problem, all checked. I don't think I've explained this well. The system will NOT power up from standby, there is no VDU read on in the panel. The standby light is just flashing on/off. Is there a 're-set' button anywhere?

  • baldrickbark Aug 15, 2008

Does this system have a 're-set' button please?

  • baldrickbark Aug 16, 2008

Does anyone know if this syastem has a re-set button please yes or no?

I did try that one, but no go I'm afraid

Ur problem indicates that there is somthing wrong in the hardware section.it is very much advisable to call a company technician better than trying out somthing which can worsen the problem more

Your Home Theater has problem in Amp section. Please check speaker wires are connected properly and see its insulation as well. If found fine, Amp Output in Home Theater is bad.

No Sir, Its not issue of reset or related with software. Its problem in Hardware, Output Amplifier. Your Home Theater is in shutdown mode and this will happen when there is hardware failure in system. You need to take it to Philips service center for proper repair as its not case to do-it-yourself.

Unit stays on standby

The only thing I can find in the manual (link below) is to remove the power cord for a few minutes & try powering on from the "Standby ON" button, also set the "source" to anything other than TV. http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/l/lx3600d_25/lx3600d_25_dfu_eng.pdf

Stanby light flashes red. System will not turn on. Trouble shooting does not work

Have you tried unplugging the power supply cable. Wait a couple of minutes then plug it back in. See what happens.
Or HOLD steady the standby button for a couple of seconds and release it once you see the color change to blue. Hope it works.

Philips Home Theater - Annoying high pitch sound while on standby

I have the same problem with the same model, so obviously it's not a single-unit problem. My only solution, since taking it back isn't feasible at this point, is to have a DVD on play-pause so that it's not on standby. Waste of energy, so I don't do it all the time, only when I'm sitting in the room late at night making the high-pitched noise hard to ignore.

a blinking or pulsing power light usualy means a problem with the power supply. Check for burned resistors or swallen capacitors on the power board it will be the one with the one with the main power running to it.

STANDBY LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING

Unplug the power cord, wait for 5 minutes, plug the power cord back in and try to operate the unit.

If this does not work, you will have to get a technician to look at it for you.

Please rate this solution - THANKS

Dvd player

There are hacks available on the web. Some require a "secret" combination on the remote. Others require soldering inside. Each player is different. Some cannot be hacked at all. Try a search engine entry for Phillpis HTS3154 region code. If I find something specific I will return and repost the URL.
