Im looking for replacment fueses for my jbl tr225 and was wondering if something that can handle more power would be safe

I would only increase the fuse size by 5 amps if I could not find the right size.... If you have a direct short it will blow the fuse if it is a little over sized. If you use the range alot for a long period of time and if the wire size is matched real close to the fuse size then you could run the risk of getting the wire to hot and cause a fire hazard if you use a larger fuse then is needed..... Hope this helps.

:o( you're going to have to pull the radio out to see what they did. They probably added a wire to an inappropriate circuit to power the new radio or amp. I will paste your factory wiring colors below. If you now have an extra wire, that is the likely culprit. Trace it to see where they hooked it in. If it isn't going to the the fuse box and using an extra slot, make it so by connecting it to the cold side of the fuse and put an approprite size fuse in. To determine the fuse size to use, you can compare the wire gage to other cold side wires and use a fuse the same size as you see being used for similar gage wires. Let me know if you have more questions.

Power/ Ground Problem. Im running a 6ga Power wire to the battery (approx 6')with a 40amp fuse. The amp turns on, then about 10 seconds later blows the fuse. The ground is the same ga wire and is grounded...

1. Start by undoing your ground.
2. Use a jumper cable to hook up the ground to the battery ground.
3. Install fuse and test.

If it continues to blow you have an internal amp problem.

If it fails to blow a fuse you have a problem with the chassis ground.

If it is a ground issue you can chase down the various ground straps and clean the connections or you can run another ground cable to the chassis (body) ground to the battery to reestablish the connection.

Pyle PLA885 amplifier blows 25amp fuse. Ideas?

signs of a short, did any wires touch while you where hooking or un hooking the amp? if not then the internal power supply probably has a short in it and needs to be repaired. you can swap the fuse for a good one and hook it back up and make sure you don't touch any wires and if it blows it again then your issues is internal and will need repair if it doesn't and everything seems fine then wires could have touched or the amp was ran past it's limit and blew the fuse to protect it self. good luck and ask any more question you have

Blown fuses

If the fuses only blow after the remote voltage is applied, the output transistors are likely shorted.

According to the owner's manual, the amp should have two 20 amp fuses.

If it keeps blowing fuses then #1 its internally damaged or "blown" .. Or #2 i would make sure you have the battery power hooked up to the + terminal and the ground wire running from the car body to the - terminal.. so if its hooked up correctly and keeps blowing fuses then it requires repair.. I wish i had better news but thats all it can be...
