RT2770 cuts out above a volume setting of 30.

Bass and other settings may be set too high and are overdriving the unit.

If all else fails try the old unplug it for a while and then plug back to see if that helps.

What if anything else is hooked up at the same time to this system?

Hello roby, hi, to find if the problem is the cable box or the TV, try using another TV. if the cable box performs normally, you have a problematic TV. Otherwise its the cable box.

Hello Sir, Hi, the loud noise means that the amplifier is working fine, the problem is the signal or the audio is missing. so check your cables (usually) or port connection (sometimes) and selector switch. update me of your progress.

The problem is likely to be the speaker protection relay. The contacts are corroded. This part should be available from Mackie directly. If you have no repair experience, I wouldn't start with one of these. Where are you located?

Loud distortion on Front Channels

Well, the nice thing about the newer amps is that the actual amp circuitry is all contained in a module and you don't have to do much troubleshooting. Just replace the module for that pair of channels. Bad news of course is the modules can be pricey. Should say right on it the part number, order it from mcminone.com or whoever, solder it in, use new conductive grease (many times I think these modules fail because the grease gets old, the module overheats and toasts) and you should be fixya'd

Car stereo receiver

Maybe the owners manual would help. It says you can adjust the sensitivity of the AUX input through a menu. It sounds like the AUX sensitivity is just set to max. Look for the 'to change other settings' chapter, instructions are in there.
If you don't have the manual, find it on the official website.
