Different companies recommend slightly different ratios. For Stihl and Husqvarna saws the ratio is 40:1. I expect the same ratio will be ok with most other saws also. Use a good quality 2 stroke oil like stihl or husqvarna rather than the cheaper oil you get at service stations

What is the fuel mix ratio?

Hi David:
Chainsaws are 2 cycle engines and must have the oil mixed into the gas. Modern chainsaws use a ratio of 50:1
Tat is, 50 parts gas, 1 part oil.
Make sure that you use oil that is specially intended for this purpose. The container will usually have a chart that shows how many litres of gas for how many cc of oil.

What is the oil gas ratio

The oil gas ratio is the proportionate amount of 2 stroke engine oil mixed with gasoline to be used as a fuel for the smaller (mostly) commonly used 2 cycle engines on chainsaws and weedtrimmers. Here is a oil gas ratio chart.
