Hi I have a acer t660-f97z and Im looking to upgrade the system board (E415SM) Can any one please advise me on what compatible socket 775 CPUs there is for this model and what the maximum buss speed it...

It's hard to say because Socket 775 is very much an outdated (2003) socket. In all honesty it will not be worth an upgrade because your gig of 533mhz ram will bottle neck it, so you won't actually notice a difference because all the other components will drag it behind so you won't see the effect of your upgrade.

Honestly. Save up ~$400-$500, go to an online store that sells packaged computers (do your research, some can rip you off). This is probably the best computer I could find for $500:

But this should only be a reference, do some shopping around!
PS. Don't forget to have an install disc of windows, 95% of these PC's done come with windows.

What type of ram does a Acer E415SM 1.0 board support?

Here are the url's for 2 reputable webs sites which deal in ram

Both have a "Scan System" option if you should so choose. Both will tell you what kind of and how much ram your board supports.

They will of course offer some for sale. Worth checking both to see if they concur with you details, but you don't have to buy from them, Just note down your RAM requirements then go shopping for the best deal.

I need to download a sound card for acer n1996 but every site takes me to driverboost and i have to purchase it?? can anyone tell me how to get my speakers working pleaseeeeed
under "audio driver" you see Onboard Sound Driver for all MS Windows Versions ... click on it... and run the setup...
it should work...
one more thing ...
your motherboard model is not ACER N1996...
it may be MS 6772... or any other MSI model...

check your motherboard... under ACER 1996 you can see a small box with model name...

Need all motherboard drivers

Acer have an online FTP archive of all their drivers for current devices. Find the model of relevant to your search in the folder listing and then chipset for motherboard driver sets.
Note: Acer only have a central download site unlike other manufacturers which seperate these support sites by locale.
