Question about Lanzar VIBE 2CH 360W MOSFET AMP Car Audio Amplifier

I have a faulty MOSFET amplifier amp-360, there is power supplied to it, ground and remote are fine as well as input and output signal, there is no sound at all, i have measured the values across the positive and negative terminals and i have nothing, i was wondering which components i should be looking at as the source of the problem.

The power supply circuit could be defective. Unless you have a very expensive unit, it usually would cost more to have it repair then just purchase an used unit. If you are planning on fixing it yourself, chances are that you may not be able to find schematics or replacement parts for the unit.

    The power supply is fine, It is intended for use in a car, i have a second amp which operates fine, (Same make type model etc), i was hoping it would be a dead transistor or capacitor to be honest, that i could fix myself, if it is other components, i would be more hesitant to dive in with a soldering iron

    sorry i misread the comment, the power supply circuit is fine Ive metered it and it's all good, so it is the signal side which is dead.

    There is an inverter circuit which supply the higher voltages to the amplify circuits, the inverter is a switching power supply, with an IC driving power MOSFET transistors which then drive a transformer, and finally, the high speed rectifiers to convert the power into positive and negative supplies needed for the amplify cicuits.

What is a opamp


An opamp is an operational amplifer. The OPA134 is a single amplifier with differential inputs. The best way to describe this IC is that it is an ideal amplifier with infinite gain, with high input impedance and low output impedance making it both a voltage and current amplifier. The output signal is divided with resistors and provides feedback to the minus input to inject negative feedback. The ratio of this feedback basically determines the final gain. The input signal may go to the positive input for a non-inverting amplifier or to the negative input for an inverting amplifier. Roughly the voltage gain in dB will be 20 x log of Vout/Vin. There is a difference in the gain of 1 between inverting and non-inverting for accuracy sake, but that is the basics.
This particular part is very high quality in performance and should be replaced with the equivalent part or one from Burr-Brown. The power supply is typically +/- rails and ground is usually the virtual point between the split supplies representing 0V. Sometimes the input signal will not be referenced to ground and will be fed to both the plus and minus inputs which will be balanced (impedance wise) to form a differential input that rejects common signals such as noise. Sounds like your power supply to the amp. Make sure you location has plenty of air flow around it and use at least 10 gauge wire to the power input. Same size on the ground and make sure all contacts are clean. Your alternator will run hot when the sound is cranked and the car is moving. The heat lowers the amperage output of the alternator and will cause the amp to cut in and out.

I hooked up a dual mosfet 4 channel amp and i am not getting power to it. the way it is setup is from battery to 100 amp fuse, from fuse to inside cab of truck then to 500 K farad, Split from + to power on...


Bad ground sounds like you may have paint or undercoating stopping the ground from making good contact or unhook the remote wire and run a small wire from the main power to the remote hook up and see if it works ...... May have a faulty remote

Is this a good amp


I classify this as a sleeper of the car audio industry. it is powerful, well built, cheap, feature laden, sounds great! very comparible to the big names such as kicker, alpine, fosgate an all the rest. i would prefer this amp over any of them any day of the week! here are the specs for it incase u didn't have them.

    Amp 7541a amp was working fine, Took it out of one


    REMOVE THE RCA INPUTS AND DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS, THEN POWER THE AMPLIFIER UP WITH THIS NO INPUT, NO SPEAKER LOAD CONDITION. IF IT STILL GOES INTO PROTECTION AND YOU HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE POSITIVE AND ESPECIALLY THE GROUND CONNECTIONS, ALONG WITH THE REMOTE CONNECTIONS ARE 100%, THEN THE AMPLIFIER WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. KEEP IN MIND, THAT DURING THE INITIAL TURN ON OF THE AMPLIFIER, THEY SOMETIMES WILL ILLUMINATE THE PROTECTION LIGHT WHILE STABILIZING THE POWER SUPPLY AND OUTPUTS, BUT AFTER THAT THEY SHOULD SHOW NORMAL POWER UP. IF YOU GET IT TO POWER UP FINE, THEN RECONNECT THE SPEAKERS AND IF STILL OK, THE RECONNECT THE RCA'S. IF IT IS STILL POWERED UP, THEN START TO TURN UP THE MUSIC.     NEW AMPLIFIER WILL NOT LIGHT UP OR POWER UP


    It sounds like your saying that you have two identical amp, that both are on the same power wires and remote wires and sam grounds? Well if thats the case then you did ok as One amp sounds like its blown. First tghing is check the main fuse. If its good and the unit still dosent resond then the power supply in the amp is blown as theres a switching supply that increases the 12 volts to get power to drive the Mosfet output devices. Was it ever working?? yes then the amp needs service. Do you know how to work on solid state elctronics down to componet level?? No??
