This error code is to with DRM (digital rights management) within WMP.

The only solution i could find was from Microsoft themselves.

Have a read of this page and give it a go...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920075

Where is asks you to start IE, it has to be IE and no other browser as for some reason this update only works if you use IE.

Hope this helps

try doing a search of your HDD for any folders called DRM you may find it that way.

I had a look on my HDD and found the folder OK, so it should be on yours somewhere.

Have you paid for and downloaded any music in the past few months before this problem arose?

Also when you rip an audio cd to your HDD rip it as a MP3 not as a WMA file, which are protected DRM files.

Downloading to windows media

Make sure you download the music format is supported by windows media player.( windows media player requires formats are supported to play)
If not, you need to get the converter to change the format of music that you download.

Thank you.
Hopefully this can help.

Cannot play any music

This looks like a Windows Media player error code. If so, try this.

The following are the steps that you should perform if your player is not receiving streams:

Open Windows Media Player.
If you don't see the menu selections File View Play Tools Help at the top of the player, RIGHT-click on the very top of the player and select Show Menu Bar.
Select Tools and then Options and the Network tab.
Under the Streaming Protocols section, be sure that ONLY TCP and HTTP are selected.
Select the Performance tab.
In the Connection Speed section, select Detect Connection speed (recommended).
Select the Player tab.
In the Automatic Updates section, be sure that Download Codecs Automatically is checked.
Be sure that Connect to the Internet (overrides all other commands) is checked.
Select the File Types tab.
Click the Select All button.
Click OK and totally close the player and try connecting again.
