Question about HP Pavilion dv9810US Notebook
If the laptop is getting very hot and shutting down then you no doubt need to clean the CPU fan and the air vents of any build up of dust that may have collected over the 3 years you've had it.
Get a can of compressed air and give short blasts through the air vents and the CPU fan grill. You should see dust shoot out of the vents when you depress the button of the can.
The CPU fan is located underneath that laptop and the air vents can be located at the sides or the back of the laptop.
If it still gets hot and shuts down after doing this then I suggest that you take the laptop to a reutable PC repair store and have them clean the inside of the laptop for you and have it serviced at the same time.
Hope this helps!!!
