Question about HP Pavilion dv9810US Notebook

1 Answer

I have a HP Pavilion dv9810us laptop. It is about 3.5 yrs old. Since last 1 yr I am noticing that the laptop is becoming extremely heated when I open any heavy resource hungry application. Once it gets too heated it shuts down and will not start up until it cools down. It will be very helpful if you kindly help with this.

Hi.

If the laptop is getting very hot and shutting down then you no doubt need to clean the CPU fan and the air vents of any build up of dust that may have collected over the 3 years you've had it.

Get a can of compressed air and give short blasts through the air vents and the CPU fan grill. You should see dust shoot out of the vents when you depress the button of the can.

The CPU fan is located underneath that laptop and the air vents can be located at the sides or the back of the laptop.

If it still gets hot and shuts down after doing this then I suggest that you take the laptop to a reutable PC repair store and have them clean the inside of the laptop for you and have it serviced at the same time.

Hope this helps!!!

Regards.

On hp laptops it is the ribbon cable under the quick button panel that is loose. Causing pink lines when not in the correct position.

F8 into safe mode after cutting the computer on and boot into safe mode. click on administrator, after the system has booted up go Start>>Control Panel>>User Accounts, select your account and click on change password. you don't need the old password just leave them all blank press enter/ok/apply out of the screen and restart and there you go
