Does it have a setting to allow you to choose to print irregular sized photos.

You should do this through software or an app. Some type of photo editor. There are many to choose from ranging from free to the very pricey Adobe Photoshop. Standard sizes print direct from the printer menu, but custom sizes are not apparently available (from reading the manual online). You can do some editing, such as cropping, direct from the menu, but frankly, if I am going to do anything other than print a standard size with no editing, I always use software or an app for my android. Doing these things directly from the printer never gives me good results. The screen you are looking at on the printer is just too small. I don't even crop this way.

How do you make a one page, 8.5x11 tiling of a single photo into six tiles?

Multiple panels on a single page need to be formated and printed from a photo application such as Corel Photo Album, etc. These programs let you print more that one picture per page.
Look at a program such as Photoscape. Download from http://download.cnet.com/PhotoScape/3000-2192_4-10703122.html?tag=main;productListing

pull out the paper tray. depress the blue button located to the right of the photo paper insert slot and slide the entire top section of the paper tray forward until it latches into place. be sure to place your photo paper finish side down. the printer will automatically recognize the paper size and select it for you by default. i assure you this will solve your problem. heres a link to the manual. the illistrations you need are located in chapter 2 page 13 and 14. please leave a testimonial on my page to show appreciation. thanks.

When I print pictures on the 3210 HP all-in-one, they come out very small even though I choose the 4X6 in paper size for the photo tray. I've tried everything I can, but the pictures keep printing wallet...

First thing that comes to mind is that a 4x6" print could print four wallet sized photos; be shure your are not printing more than one copy.

If you are trying to print more than one,it will print the actual picure you have and leave space for the number of other nonexistent prints selected.

See page 75 of the Manual. for directions on how to set up photo printing.

If you have photoshop, you can resize your documents using the menu item, Image / Image size, (Alt + i then i again)

Set the resolution to 300, then the document size width to 6 or 10 inches.

This will guarantee that your document is full size, (though the printer should be able to resize it to fit on the page no matter what).

Give these a try. It's really a shot in the dark, but it's my best guess.

Cheers.
Richard.

I have a HP Photosmart 8450 printer. I would like to know how to set it to print 8.5 x 8.5 photos

Hello SLeolioness

Please, go HERE for HP's support page for your printer.

HERE you will find the manuals that are available for your printer.

You can change the photo sizes on the front control panel. Please, go HERE and scroll down to the HELP section. [ Photo sizes ] is on the 3rd row.

I think that may be it because if you go further down to the PREFERENCES section, you'll see an option there for printing Passport Photos.

While still in preferences, look at the 5th row from the bottom. There you'll see how the printer can automatically detect the paper size.

In the 4th row from the bottom, it explains how a print preview option can be set. In this way, it will allow you to preview the photo(s) your about to print in the selected layout. (Not an option on all printers, however.)

So, it would appear that by using the proper combination of tray size, paper, and menu selection (for the photo size) you will be able to print to 8.5 x 8.5 photos.

Sizing the photo

Unfortunately, the P400 seems to have its own set of sizes. The printer will give a print close to the size selected. (This is really noticeable with the perferated psper.) The situation is no different with the P440.
