Question about ECS 945G-M3 (V3.0) Motherboard
I'm trying to identify the BIOS chip on this board. Towards one edge near the CMOS jumper contact is an eight pin socketed chip that's removeable and at the opposite side is a surfaced mounted "soldered-in" chip that is labelled, "AMIBIOS" with several numbers on it.
Appreciate your advise.
You have answered your own question.
Its an Ami-bios chip.
If you want to update it you need to go to the motherboard manufacturer's support pages and download the bios from there.
The Bios is programmed specifically for your motherboard, so you can't just use any old bios update.
