Holding the tank together? I assume you have an S160, S200 or S240. If so the two halves just lift appart although they usually need a good pull or pry to break the air vacuum in them. If not, please verify the model number and if you mean the tank itself or the valve on top or off the side of the unit.

ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT

Assuming this is a XG 350, the process is lengthly.
1. Remove the RH radiator cooling fan (two 10mm bolts at the top & wiring harness connector to it).
2. Lift vehicle to remove the Right Front wheel (then remove 4 10mm bolts securing the plastic splash shield & remove it)
3. Loosen the 14mm nut on the alternator belt tensioner pully
4. Loosen the tension on the belt by rotating (counter-clockwise) the 14mm bolt at the bottom of the idler pully and remove the belt.
5. remove the pully & the idler pully (three 12 mm bolts)
6. Loosen the 14mm nuts at the top and bottom mounting points of the alternator.
7. Using a floor jack (or vehicle lift), support the engine using a jack-stand & 2x4 piece of wood under the oil pan.
8. This is tricky - lift the engine 'SLIGHTLY' to take pressure off the front engine mount - loosen the 17 mm nut on top of the mount itself and observe engine movement. If the engine moves upward 'slightly' remove the 17mm nut - if not, raise the engine slight more until you see the mounting bracket rise off the mount.
9. Remove the remaining 17mm nut (deep well socket), and two 17mm bolts and remove the engine mount bracket.
10. Here's another tricky step. Some 350's bottom Alternator bolt bores are 'SLOTTED'... some are NOT. You'll need to determine wether you'll need to REMOVE the lower bolt, or just loosen the mounting sleeve at the bottom bolt. If it's 'sleeved', I use an air hammer to loosen the sleeve. If it's not slotted, I remove the lower bolt (it's the only way to remove the alternator and pry it off).
11. At the top is an "L" bracket which uses two 12mm bolts to attach it to the engine (head). One of the two 12mm bolts is difficult to get to -- do your best to remove it because the battery cable to the alternator is in the way.
12. Disconnect the alternator wiring (battery cable & regulator harness connector)
13. Lift the engine as high as it will go & pry the alternator off its lower mounting.
14. manuver the alternator upward taking care not to damage the radiator.
15. Installation is in reverse order.
NOTE: If your XG's lower mounting point was slotted, your task is easy. If it isn't, your task now becomes more difficult as you must align the new alternator to facillitate re-insertion of the lower bolt.
PS If not slotted, I use a telliscoping magnet to help re-insert the lower bolt.

I cant find the battery in my grand prix se 1994 pontiac

1. Loosen the four screws that hold down the top of the air filter box. 2. Loosen the clamp that attaches the air filter box to the intake hose. 3. Disconnect the air sensor connector from the top of the air filter box. Note: Secure the connector wire, it tends to drop down and more than once I have had to remove the air filter box to retrieve it. 4. Remove the top part of the air filter box. You may need to twist it to get it to release from the rubber air inlet Hose.
5. Remove the two bolts holding the bottom of the air filter box. 6. Remove the bottom part of the air filter box.
7. Disconnect the negative then the positive battery cables.
8. Remove the three bolts that hold the brace that goes over the Windshield washer tank. 9. Remove the brace.
10. Remove the Battery hold down clamp at the base of the battery.
11. Remove the two nuts that hold the fuse box to the fender well. 12. Remove the two fasteners from the front of the widshield washer tank. 13. Rotate the windshield washer tank away from the battery. You may need to move the tank and lift the fuse box to get the tank clear of the battery. 14 Remove the battery.
To Install reverse the steps.
Time: 5 to 10 Minutes

How to remove headlight assembly on 02 tundra

Once you have removed the screw on top, remove two visible lower nuts at bottom. You will also need to gently pry the plastic snap attachment that looks like a screw on top that holds turn signal in place. This is done by gently prying upward. These are plastic and sometimes brake. Your local parts store such as Pep boys should carry this item if you need to replace.
At this point the turn signal is free to be removed and will grant you access to the lower hold down nut that holds the headlight bottom. The turn signal can be stubborn to remove. I found that once I freed the top I could pull forward to free bottom. Keep in mind the turn signal removes by pulling straight forward from the vehicle. Pulling in any other direction may cause damage.

How do i take the heater core out of my 81 f150

Disconnect battery ground cable.
Disconnect cable from temperature blend door and the mounting bracket from top of heater assembly.
Disconnect blower motor and resistor electrical connectors.
Disconnect and plug hoses from heater core.

Working under instrument panel, remove 2 nuts on 1980---81 models, or 3 nuts on 1982---87 models, attaching left side of heater assembly and right side of plenum to dash.

On 1980---81 models, remove screw attaching top center of heater assembly to dash. On all models, remove 2 screws attaching right side of heater assembly to dash, then lift heater assembly out of vehicle.

Remove heater housing plate attaching screws, nut and bolt and the plate. On 1980---82 models, remove 3 heater core frame attaching screws and the frame. On all models, slide heater core and seal out of heater assembly.

Reverse procedure to install. Good Luck and hope this helps

Need instructions on replacing filter head on a haywad de filter ec75a

Remove the nuts and bolts around the head of the filter. The top then seperates from the bottom. if the top of the tank is broke you need to remove the black cover and continue disassembly.
Remove the grip from the handle. Usually a squeeze clip to slide grip off. Slide black cover over handle.
Remove bolt holding handle on to bump shaft, might be addtional drift pin that needs to be removed. Tap out with a drift punch.
Once these are removed the bump shaft will be attached to the top and bottom plates with the main gasket still attached. The filter Head is now free to be replaced.

Screw rusted; cannot remove

ok for one, once you remove the screw hopefully you havent damaged the armature, which is the most important part,,,,1. get vice grips 2. try to get something to lock the sides down, ......question first, do you know if it works, if it does why are you taking the screw off, also if it doesnt its unfortunately probaly not worth fixing, if you need parts off of it just crush the side open..... if you come across another unit that has a screw loose, use silicon on the bolt and screw it will help keep it from rusting...
