You may use either
DDR 400 or DDR2 533 RAM. These will be 184 or 240 pin chips, respectively. The maximum RAM for this motherboard is 2GB total, and you may only use one type of RAM; you are not able to combine different speeds of RAM.
Check out mo bo specs - you may have exceeded mo bo capacity. Or try a different memory stick - all memory are not created the same - some will work in one machine and not another. Experiment if you are within specs.
If it works fine with one stick of ram. Then it is the ram that is incompatible. You can try different settings but you may end up that the stick isn't compatible. Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you, Lee
*********** Board is :Foxconn P4M800P7MA-RS2
Max Supported RAM : 2GB DDR2
Supported RAM speed: 533 MHz • 400 MHz • 333 MHz • 266 MHz. I think it deffinately solves your problem. If you have any problem post your comment with more information.
the motherboard will automatically detect it, make sure that you always use the same manufacturer, speed and size ram chips, don't mix and match. Go to this site and run the scanner and it will tell you what you have and what exactly you can put in it. http://www.crucial.com/
Its a memory problem obviously. Try dusting the memory slot and try inserting the memory into the slot a couple of times. If still not working, the memory may be incompatible(rarely, there are brands of boards that doesn't suit to certain brands of memory), or it may be damaged.
there is a jumper setting to slect which type of memory you want to use, check your manual for details on how to change it
1> enusre the rams are in correctly
2>ensure your main board supports the amount of memory and the speed of the memory
3> verify jumper select to correct memory type is set correctly
if the main board aint compatable with the memory you brought that will cause the same problem
