Question about Computers & Internet
I had a similar issue with a Sanyo MP3 player that I had. I found that I was in the wrong "Mode" when I was trying to play the music, and when I was downloading it to the player. Apparently it had to be in one mode for music loading, then another to play the files. When the modes were reversed, the information was stored on the MP3 player's memory in the wrong location and could not be accessed correctly by the software. I recommend finding the serial number and model number of your player, and going to the company's web site to see if there is a FAQ listing for your issue. Most of the time ,if you are having the issue, there have been others who have had the same problem.
Without knowing the make and model of your player, I cannot give an exact resolution, however you should be able to find help if you go to the manufacturer's web site. Search for the model and serial numbers for your player and confirm that you have the right software to put music onto your player. Then make sure that your players' settings are all correct for the file transfer, and that you are putting the files into the correct place in your player. Once the transfer is complete, check to make sure that the software worked correctly by checking the files in your player -- be sure they are in the correct location on your player, and that they are the correct size (compared to the files on your computer). If everything is in the right place and it still does not work, or if the transfer does not work, contact the customer service for the manufacturer of your MP3 player and make sure you followed the procedure properly. If you were right on, and it still is not working, ask if you can send the player in for a replacement -- a lot of companies will replace defective hardware for free if you have followed the above steps correctly and are able to stay polite on the phone through all the computerized menus on their customer service line (Being on hold with customer service after navigating all of their computerized menus is frustrating as heck, but worth the time if you can get a replacement for a defective unit).
