Question about Gaggia Baby Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Gaggia Baby Ivory, 2 weeks old.Hot coffee spurts out of side of brewing head when brewing. I called your Philips help line & was told that I had to insert a plastic disk, which is not shown on the parts list in the instructions under the cup filters. These do not fit under the cup filters & so i assumed that they need to be inside the cup filter with the coffee. This just melted one of them. This is not good Gaggia! Can you advise please.

If coffee is brewing out the side of the head then the group gasket needs to be replaced because it is damaged or there might be coffee grounds stuck to the gasket and it needs to be cleaned using a brush or you can also use cotton swabs.

Baby gaggia no water flow for espresso

I helped my father to fix two of these machines that had this problem. He never uses the steam, only making crema coffee all day long, every day.

It is not easy to fix, but its not complicated either. If there is no water flow from the brew group, but still steam, that means the brew group has gotten clogged with Calcium.

When you take it apart you will be amazed.

You will need a very short and fat Philips head screw driver.

Like this:

or similar. Any hardware store will have it. 1st step is to turn the machine on its side on a soft surface to protect from scratches.

Remove the brew head and look in the brew group where you prob. haven't looked before. You will see a screen with a Phillips head screw in the middle. You need the screw driver to remove that screw. It is like almost melted in from the high heat so you need a Phillips with a fat head so as to not strip it, and a thick handle to apply a lot of torque. And you will need a bit of strength.

If you make it past this just hit me back and I'll tell you more. Or hit me if you have any other questions about this step, or at all. Believe it or not, there is more stuff past the screen.

Gaggia baby espresso machine-Steam button is stuck

The only thing that comes to mind is that the machine is in steam/hot water mode. Unless you replace the switch and turn off the steam light so that it sends the water to the correct location. Also you might want to remove the shower screen and make sure it is clean.

Gaggia baby 18 momths old water coming through steam bit but no water coming through coffe bit any suggestions libby

If you have a pre-grind button on your machine, push it but don't put any coffee in the brew unit. Push any of the coffee buttons, and see if water will come out then. If it does not, then you have a plugged brew unit and the brew head needs cleaning. I have directions for cleaning.

Gaggia Classic Spurts Everywhere

Hi there if your coffee is spurting out the sides it is because the group gasket is worn or has gone hard through use and now needs replacing. Basically when you twist your coffee handle on it doesn't always form a perfect seal and so the pressure causes the coffee to spurt out the sides. If you are not sure where to get parts get in touch with David at and he will be able to sort you out.
All the best

Baby gaggia steamer doesn't work

Does the machine brew hot coffee? If yes, then remove the parnello and clean the holes at the end of the steam wand. If that does not solve problem, then it is blocked where valve is connected to boiler, Try descaling machine. If no then the thermostat on the boiler has tripped and needs to be reset.
