Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My washer began leaking last week each time I use it. I have checked all the connections, made sure all lines in and out are free from debris. Any suggestions? It sounds to me like the machine is louder so I am worried it is the seal on the pump. I have heard this washer has that issue.

Hi just read your posting.Try this on your machine.Power up the machine then advance the cycle to spin. Now push the start button.Does the noise start as soon as you push the start button or when the machine turns the bowl for the spin?Is the noise a rumbling noise or high pitched squeal? If the noise starts as soon as you push the start button the fault is your pump.If the noise starts when the machine spins the bowl then the problem is with the bearings and seals. Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you.Looking forward to your reply.

Hello
The problem may be the drain line.Unplug washer and remove drain line.Inspect line for any debri or lint.Check drain line screen for anyhting cloging it.
Be sure to tiighten all clamps when putting drainline back on.

Check incoming water screens. These are on washer where water hoses connect, clean if needed.

Last, try a self clean of machine. This sounds like a high eff washer which should have a cleaning mode.

Recently had a sediment problem with our well, is there another place to clean out sediment other than the screens at the hot & cold water hose connections on a whirlpool duet washer?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
1. Drain and Flush your HOT water heater. This bugger will keep supplying sediment for weeks!
2. There can be hose screens installed at the wall connection also. Remove the hoses and check for hose screens.
3. Check the Inlet screens again.
4. Of you have a pressure tank.. Drain and purge (another source of debris)
Other than that as far a water supply those are the only places to be concerned about. Once your sure you have clean water.... re-check you inlet and hose screens once a week for a while as sediment will migrate through plumbing for extended periods depending on the type of sediment.
The screens can repeatedly clog for some time due to sediment.

If you experience a symptom that your machine will fill when off or leak water by constantly the debris has blocked open the inlet water valve needle at the diaphragm.
- You can sometimes back flush this by first removing BOTH inlet water screens from the water valve and reconnecting the hoses.
- Only connect ONE hose to the wall and turn on the water to the connected hose while placing the other hose in a bucket.
- Select WARM wash and let water flow into bucket. Tap the hose connections with the HANDLE of a hammer or screwdriver in an attempt to loosen debris.
- Reverse hose connections and repeat.

RE-install the inlet screens in the water valve and return the machine to normal use.

Kelly

Problem with whirlpool duet washer

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

My 4870 K Boss is 2 years old. I have replaced belts & filters in the specified intervals. This last time I replaced the belt after a year, it shredded 3 of them on the outside edge of the belt in...

The only reason why it would be shredding the belt is if the pulleys were not lined up correctly. Check the allignement of the belt to make sure there is nothing kepping the pulleys from being in line. The other thing that it could be is if the roller was not rolling freely check the beater bar and make sure it is free and if not clean the inside of the end caps to be sure they are free of hair and other debris.

Kenmore he2 front load washer

“F21” (AKA SD) is a Long (SLOW) Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
