SOURCE: drill bit is stuck inside my makita drill chuck

Try using the low torque setting on the drill when reversing and something to assist you getting a better grip to hold the chuck from spinning when reversing. This may help.

Good Luck

SOURCE: makita 6408 drill motor. can't see how to replace the chuck.

If you have the 6408 as listed the spindle is threaded and you are correct there is no retaining screw. What you would need to do is find a bent handle allen wrench about the size of the chuck capacity 3/8" and insert the shorter end in the chuck and tighten. put the chuck on a block of wood or workbench and position the long end at about a 30 degree angle in the counter clockwise position and strike it with a hammer, this might take a couple hits. If this is not a 6408 let me know and I will look at the tool for you and see what you got.

SOURCE: keyless chuck is stuck with bit inside

Try two channel lock pliers.
Hold the bit close the the base with one.
Take the other (cloth comes in handy here to prevent marring) and turn the chuck counter clockwise to release.

Alternative (little WD40 on the chuck)
One channel lock plier hold the chuck and put the drill in reverse.
The WD40 should allow the chuck to release easier.

Good luck!

Sds bit snapped in my makita bhr200 chuck.on taking the drill apart, the chuck is on a gear rod,and wont allow me to push the chuck down

You have to remove the striker bolt from inside the spindle first. to do this remove the internal circlip (not always easy) then you can tap the striker bolt out and then press the broken bit out.

Hi, the simplest and best solution is to replace the whole chuck. This is a cheap and easy thing to do and suitable 13mm chucks are available online from lots of different manufacturers and are nearly all compatible. here is link to a genuine Makita replacement chuck , but there are plenty of cheaper brands to choose from. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/keyless-drill-chuck-p-90496.html Hope this was of use to you.

Grasp chuck, reverse it until fully open. Look inside where bit goes and should be an allen head or torque head screw holding chuck to motor arbor/shaft.
