Installing this to your Vista computer will not be a problem it should be easy just like you install it on XP or any other operating system , and once its installed properly you just need all your wireless settings for your router and it will be fine to work wireless.

If you are connecting to the wireless router using LAN cables only then you can ignore the wireless setup part.
To configure Netgear wireless router and the wireless cards in the laptop and PC follow these steps : -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL : -

http://192.168.0.1
3. Enter the router setup, login and password : -
Login = admin
PW = password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router.

Dell Inspiron 1525 not connecting wirelessly to Sky broadband

If your wireless router is configured with SSID, encryption, MAC address filtering (if enabled) etc. then the Dell wireless card needs to be configured with these settings to allow it to communicate with the wireless router.
Check the settings on your PC's wireless settings, and configure the Dell the same way.

Cannot connect both XP computer and Vista to Internet

A lot of cable modems will store the MAC address of the first device connected to them and will only talk to this particular device/MAC address. If this is the case, you will need to power down the modem and the router for some period of time. If you also get phone service through your cable company then there may even be an internal battery backup that you have to exhaust. Unplug it and wait at least one minute after all lights are off and then turn it on first followed by the router. The router should then register its MAC address with the modem and then all will be good.

If your modem or some other equipment owned by the cable company permanently stores the MAC address then you will need to one of two things. The easiest is to call the cable company's tech support and ask them to change the MAC address for your account to match your router. The seoond option is to configure the router to clone the MAC address of your XP box. Here is a link to a thread on linksys' web site with step by step directions:

http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=108261

Note: If you want to implement security, do not use WEP as indicated in these directions, use WPA. WEP is hardly better than no security.

File Sharing between Vista PC and Mac OS X

You're not the only person experiencing this problem. Many PowerPC users who upgraded to QuickTime 7.5 (sometimes even QuickTime 7.3) began to experience widespread stuttering and halting when playing back video. Apparently, these packages contained functionality improvements that simple maxed out the old CPUs.
Unfortunately, there is no generally agreed-upon fix. Since the PowerPC is a dead-end Apple architecture, most people eventually "fix" the problem by upgrading to a current (Intel) model of Macintosh. I wish I had better news for you.

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.

I have a broadband internet connection at home which had a modem and only one LAN cable. Now I have 2 laptop's one with Microsoft XP and other MS-Vista. Whenever I try to connect internet the one with XP...

if you had say one desktop and one laptop I would say to buy another LAN card for the desktop and enable internet connection sharing on it for the other computer but with two laptops that might not be possible and you will need a router.
But routers are pretty cheap nowadays and you can probably find a basic 4 port router on eBay for around $20 (you don’t really need to spend the extra money on a wireless one unless of course both laptops have wireless connections then you might find that a wireless router to be pretty useful.)
But to answer your question YES you need a router since a router will take your IP address and split it up into multiple internal IP addresses and allow more that one connection to the internet that will appear as one connection to your ISP
