There is very limited support for this model and none from HP. Windows 7 loaded a generic driver when you plugged in the usb cable. What you got is all you are going to get.
This is the pitfall of a new operating system and an older printer.

Hi,
A cleaning will fix the problem. To clean your Canon HP D1668 > open a document (from the computer) and select print from the menu,
- In the print screen window select 'properties' Or 'Preferences'

- In the next window click 'maintenance'

- In the next window there will be many options to clean, align, nozzle check etc etc...

Hope this help, thanks!

My Hp deskjet F4235 is not printing very good. I can barely read what it prints out. My printer is telling me that the ink is full.

You may need to run the maintenance processes such as head cleaning and alignment. It should be one of the tabs under the printer properties. Right click on the printer, choose printer properties, Maintenance. It depends from printer to printer. The alignment most likely is the culprit.

This printer is not working as it should; it prints blank pages instead of printing a document; reinstalled the software to no avail; i'm getting bored and angry with it; need solutions urgently; whenever...

It sounds very much like your print heads are blocked. If you have not tried already then run your maintenance program or right click on your printer item in the control panel and select the properties option. Then select maintenance.

I am getting unwanted black stripes when i do colour-printing. on my old pc i used to be able to clean/test the printing head but i dont have that facility now & can't see it on the net. any tips...

First run a cleaning cycle and test print. You can get this from Control Panel - Printers - Select Printer name and right click - select Properties and then Maintenance.

Then

1. Select Normal or Best, rather than Draft, in the Paper Type/Quality option in the Page Setup Screen.
2. Align the print cartridges. Select the Calibrate panel on the HP deskjet utility screen, then click the Align button.
3. Decrease ink density or drying time.
a. Click File > Print > Paper Type/Quality.
b. Click the Ink tab.
c. Use the sliders to adjust ink density and ink dry time.

When I try to print in colour I get yellow lines through everything. The cartridge is new so it's not running out of ink. Do I need to clean the heads somehow? If so, how do I do this?

Find the printer in Control panel, right click, select properties, click printing properties, click maintenance, click nozzle check or head cleaning

You say it stopped working mid-print... possible paper jam? Ink cartridge not clicked in all the way? (they should all line up evenly across the tops).
In control panel->printers and faxes, right click on Canoni960 and choose properties. In maintenance tab try to do nozzle check and print head alignment. In lower right corner is status monitor, click to see if any useful information in there.
