Question about Mission M50 Main / Stereo Speaker

1 Answer

I have a pair of Mission M50's and am considering mounting them on the wall. However, it says something in the manual that they shouldn't be too close to the wall and there is no obvious way of screwing a mount to them. Any thoughts and suggestions?

The reason they shouldn't be too close to the wall is because the refelction that would generate, making them respond unpredictable, mostly in the lower frequency response, Booming basses are most likely. That won't danmage your speakers, so if you don't mind, you can always attach them to a wall with after-merket mounts. You'll have to screw those in the back of your speaker though...

I don't think it will make any difference for your amplifier when you use 8 Ohm in stead of 6 Ohm. These impedance is measured on one frequency and will differ all over the audio spectrum. It could be a problem, if you try to connect 1 or 2 Ohm speakers, because they could ask a to much of a current. but don't be afraid to put these to your amp.

How much does this TV weigh? Is it considered a 32" when mounting on wall or do you considered the entire diagonal at 38"?

The TDA-03211c weighs 39.5 pounds; however, I'm not sure if that is with or without the base. The shipping weight of the TV is 50.3 pounds. Most wall mounts use the standard screen diagonal measurement to determine what size TV it will support. So the 32" is sufficient information for choosing a wall mount.

I hope this helps.

How do I remove the base from the TV to mount it on the wall?

See page 9 of the user manual, you need to remove 4 base mounting screws.
You can download the user manual from Sanyo website:

Mission 780s (from early 1990s) tweeter gone?

Hi there.
Do you have the make and number on the back of the magnet?
Check if the tweeter is at all available on the net!
To have it repaired is also an option.
