There is likely something wrong with the tube itself. It could be a short that is only there when the line warms up (10 seconds is plenty considering the amount of power that runs through it) or the CRT has a crack.
If you want to continue with this type of TV there are quite a few reliable TV repair companies in almost every mid to large town around the US. If you don't want to invest in repairing a 15 year old TV (not a bad life span for electronics by the way) then you could very likely find a 32"-37" LCD TV at your local electronic store that is reasonably priced.

Please tell me how to charge tube?

you can boost the heater of the picture tube but usually it will serve only about a month then the tv will still dim picture since the tube is almost used for about 15 years. so i suggest to replaced the tube, you can find at electronics shop or replaced the tv unit.

I have a 35in t.v model cs-3505r made in 1989. picture starting to jump after its on for hour. if I turn it off for awhile its fine, then it start jumping again. Is there anything that I could do?

Just to make you aware that this TV is 11 if not 12 years old.

With age comes issues with components such as the picture tube 'CRT' or more likely 'Capacitors' to which are drying out.
These are like small little batteries that over time just don't hold their voltage charge anymore. If it's rated for 9 Volts DC it's only charging to 4 of 5 volts at first. Over some time when the TV is on it might just get up to 7 or 8 volts and start to work again.

Unless you change all or know what specific capacitors to change yourself. Might be best to invest in a new flat panel TV.
Just a thought!

17 yr. old 35" RCA loses color intermittently. Picture & sound ok

Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.

Sony Trinitron experiences

The screen control inside the set may be on the highvoltage transformer or on the crt socket; either way if you can turn it up just a little clockwise and the picture comes up but doesn't look good you are likely to have a bad tube. Or try tapping lightly on the glass neck and watch the picture as you tap. If it reacts to the tap you have a bad tube. but the turning the screen control is the best test. Turn it the other way the picture goes off immediately. bad tube: too costly if it is available.

Hitachi 60" picture flashes on and off.

I've had the same issue although I don't unplug everything. I turn it off and then unplug it from the wall for 10 seconds then plug it back in. Seems ok after that. Has happened 4 or 5 times over the 10 years I've owned it.

My Sony tv CRT

If it's between 5-10 secs, that's normal. You will turn the tv on and hear a loud (buzz/hum) that is the picture tube firing up, once it's fired up, it has a few more seconds until your picture comes up fully. That is about 5-10 secs from pushing the power button.

If it's taking longer than that, your picture tube may be going out.

I had a 36XBR250 and it took about 10 secs to fire up and show a picture, and it was 5 1/2 years old.
