Neptune dryer has power but will not spin.I hear a faint click comming from the left side. model#MDE9700AYM

An electric Neptune clothes dryer, like most electric clothes dryers, has two circuit breakers: one for the drum and another for the heating element. Both breakers need to be in the "on" position for it to run properly. Go to your main circuit box. Reset both of the dryer's circuit breakers to the "on" position. If one of the breakers trips again, there's a problem with the dryer component that it operates. Contact a dryer repair technician to evaluate the machine's condition.
The lid switch is a small latch located on the interior of the door frame on your Neptune clothes dryer. It keeps the door securely shut when the dryer's on to prevent injury should you open the door and reach inside while it's turning. If the lid switch becomes damaged, the dryer won't turn on even though its lights might work. Run your finger over the lid switch and listen for a clicking sound. If you don't hear a sound when the latch is compressed, it's faulty and needs to be swapped out.

The thermal cut-off is a heat-sensitive safety feature on a Neptune clothes dryer that shuts off the heating element if the dryer overheats. After it activates, it can't be reset; you must replace it. Until it's replaced, your dryer might only partially function, so while its lights might turn on, the dryer might not spin or heat. Don't exchange an old thermal cut-off for a new one until you first determine what promoted it to trip, otherwise your dryer likely will overheat again.

I have a samsung dryer dv218ae it runs but no heat can you help me

Your heater elements may be bad and need replacement. Is it an electric dryer? If so electric dryers run a dual breaker, this means 120 volts on one side of the breaker runs the motor, the other side of the breakers runs the heater coils. Its possible the heater side of the breaker has tripped. Try turning off the breaker for 20 seconds or so then reset. 220 volt breakers can trip on one side and not the other.

Dryer won't start

Obvious stuff: Check main power source. Is the dryer plugged in? Do other electrical things work when plugged in to the outlet? If not, check fuses or circuit breakers. If good, is the timer/cycle control out of the "Off" position? Try several different settings.

Door check: Is the door safety switch closing? If it is or if you don't know if it is, and if you can get to the switch, you can take the wires off the switch and connect them together with a jumper wire ( unplug the machine before you do this!). With the wires clear of any metal, plug the machine back in, then press the start switch (you can leave the door open). If the machine starts, the door switch is defective.

Sound check: Do you hear a motor running when you press the Start button? Listen carefully; electric motors are very quiet. If the motor is running, your drum belt is probably broken or has come off the idler pulley. If you can take the front (sometimes the back) off the machine, this is an easy fix. Just put the belt back on the pulleys and around the tumbler drum, Note: there is a reason the belt came off if it's not broken. Look for loose or damaged pulleys or springs, including on the motor.
Do you hear a hum without the motor running? If so it indicates wearing of the motor bearings, brushes or the stator. Brushes can usually be replaced easily, but other motor problems require professional repair or replacement.

Smell check: Any unusual odors when you try to start the machine? A hot rubber smell means belt trouble. Check the belt as above. An electrical burning smell means motor or other electrical failure. Call a repair man unless you know what you are doing.

Electrical check: If you can read an electrical schematic (usually on a sticker inside the dryer cabinet or in the owner's manual) and you can use a multimeter, check continuity in the timer/cycle control, relays and switches. If you don;t understand electricity, don't mess with it! It can kill you, especially if your dryer power is 220VAC.

I looked through the peep hole in front of my gas dryer and I don't see anything lit.Dryer spins great, but doesn't heat up. What is the problem?

Igniter - The dryer's igniter is what ignites the gas that has entereddryer-ignitor.jpg through the gas valve. It will glow red, then when it reaches a certain temperature, it will trigger a thermostat that opens up the gas valve and that's when the dryer starts to heat the air. If the igniter has failed, the motor will still run but not produce any heat.

Dryer just stopped working

not much to go on here, but if you hear anything that sounds like a motor running, then I would suspect a broken belt. There is a belt that actually runs around the drum that makes it turn. If you don't hear a motor running then you need to check your controls and cable(with a volt meter(just start at the motor and work your way back). If you hear a motor then its probably the belt that gos around the drum and motor( a little tricky to replace but not hard)

The dryer is not going on., no heat, no spin, nothing. This was sudden. I checked the fuses, and then noticed I could hear the timer. I don't really know if the timer is electric.

Bosch wta 2000 dryer, heats but drum not turning

If you can hear the motor running then the belt has came off or it is broken. If you cant hear the motor then you possibly have a bad motor.

Pushed dial, dryer would not start. Heating coil on, can feel the heat and hear ticking.

If the heating elemnts are coming on but the drum is not spining then the motor could be bad or the belt could be broken that turns the drum. The motor could also be on a thermal overload in this case unplug the dryer or turn off the circuit breaker for 15 minutes and let everything cool down. After turn the breaker back on or plug it back in and give it a try if you hear the motor running but the drum is not spinning then the belt is probably broken and will have to be replaced.

Whirlpool dryer WED5530SQ0, heats but does not run

So,. basically your drum doesnt turn. SO your getting heat still even though the drum isnt turning. Is this right? Sounds strange??? Do you hear any humming noise when you push the start button? I need to know a little more about the problem because im kinda confused as how you decribed the problem. Iv never seen a dryer heat but the drum not spinning. especially your model dryer. Its electric heat right? because if the drum doesnt spin, maybe your motor is bad. and if your motor is bad, then your heating element wont heat up because the centrifical switch in the motor is not switching to complete the circuit to the heating element. So this is why im confused when you said" Dryer heats when knob turned but when "push button" pressed, drum doesnt run." Because your belt wraps around the motor pully and the motor is what makes the drum turn. Like i said, i never seen this model dryer heat with out the motor operating. So if you can give me some more info, ill do my best to help you out....Thanks!!!!
