Question about Digital Cameras

I was going to download some pictures to my computer. I plugged my camera into the computer, but I forgot to turn my camera on first. Now, all I get is blinking green and orange lights and no picture. My camera will not come on. It a sp350 by Olympus. Is it fixable? Judy Gilbert

Thank you very much. This solution fixed my problem. This was a Christmas gift from my son and husband and it upset me that I might have torn it up. Thanks again!

Actually,
here your memory being accesed by camera is corrupted,
If you are using the same memory card, then format it and try again (format it in another pc not from inside the camera)
If you are using the internal memory, then try formatting it from the shop.(plz tell me how they do it at sahara_trip@yahoo.com)

still the solution which has worked for me, is use external memory so that the camera boots from external mamory and will never show the blinking green light of death.
and you wil live happily ever after.

If you have your pictures on a memory card remove the memory card and takr the battery out of the camera leave it out for about 1 min and than put it back in. than turn your camera back on. than put the card back in place.

Forgot how to download pictures from pentax camera

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

You should try to plug it back into the computer and then safely eject it, and if that doesn't work you should get your computer checked out. Hope this helps!?

All cameras do this. As soon as you plug in the cord, the display will turn black. It is completely normal.
If the pictures aren't showing up on computer, make sure the latest drivers are downloaded for your camera. Also you can use, picture transfer or kodak easy share program to download.
Another way is to go to 'my computer" than either f: or g: drive should have your camera on it. You can access pictures here and drag n drop into another file.
