Question about Xante Ilumina® 502 Laser Printer

Open Question

I have a Xante 502 and need a service manual. I have 917 codes and take the Xfer belt assembly and clean sensors to left of assemble. I have a lot of loose cyan toner in this area. I do not know for sure if I am cleaning the right sensor. I need manual to troubleshoot problems. Do I have a Cyan drum problem or a Xfer Belt problem? Do I need to change one of these? Jerry

SOURCE: toner sensor problems

On the base of machine after removing drums and transport, there are 4 sets of 3 pins that connect to left hand bottom of each drum, these can get toner on them and not make proper contact, each set of 3 pins just pop out with the help of a flat blade, out of base to be cleaned. in yout case just switch the set under the cyan with another lot from different colour.

I am taking it that you are using genuinne non imported oki drum and toner. If this doesnt fix your problem then you must have fauly drum/toner

SOURCE: toner sensor problems

Hi i have the solucion a error of sensor black oki c3100. For two times i have the problem and a long time study the problem. it´s the solucion. Because i spanish the solution is in spanish languaje.
Cerrar y listo. YA FUNCIONA JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA.

SOURCE: Xante Illumina runs very slow when printing on

you need to check your settings, you may need to fool the machine..
on the webpage, or the front panel, select material type as plain.
set the weight setting as auto.
in the driver, make sure the setting is set to "printer Setting"
also in the driver check the selection for "black" instead of "colour"
hope this helps..

Close top cover . error code: 310

Make sure the door is not binding on anything and check the area around the door where it shuts. It could be a sensor malfunction or the door is worn and the sensor is detecting it.

SERVICE CALL 14 XFER ROLLER

The problem is most likely due to the little optical sensor assembly on the Transfer Belt getting covered up with toner. When you pull the transfer belt unit out and flip it over to the right, it will be located on the top left of the unit. It looks like a little rectangle sticking out over the edge of the plastic transfer belt. Remove the sensor assembly by removing the screws around it, and it should come right off (will have some wires running to it). You can further disassemble the sensor by removing the circuit board holding the LED and receiver. You'll have to clean toner out of or off of both of these. Mine had more on the emitter (LED), but YMMV. Be careful removing the circuit boards, because if you break it, it's $330US for a new transfer belt. 8-o

Good luck!

917 error code

That is a transfer belt error, The edge of the belt is not being sensed.
Take the transfer assembly out and reseat it. if that doesn't fix it, return the belt assembly for a warranty exchange. Sometimes just taking the transfer assembly out and putting it back in retracks it properly.

The 917 fatal error is a belt **** se sensor error. This could be caused by the belt not installed correctly or the belt at the end of its life, or the belt being torn. Please power the printer off and then reseat the transfer belt and then power the printer back on. If the error remains then I will need you to check the life remaining on the transfer belt. Also make sure the transfer belt is not torn.
