In JavaScript, registering an event handler is completing an action upon some event. For example
element.someAction = doSomething();
So if a user clicks on the element, the doSomething() function is called. This would be called registering an event handler. More on this can be found here.

In this context it probably refers to the switch designed to operate and switch off the power to the fuel pump in the event of a crash to reduce the risk of fire.

When i right click on any folder the particular window freezes saying not responding for atleast 5 min but i can access all other application or icons from desk top. im using win xp sp3

This issue is usually due to a bad context menu handler. When you right click on an object the context menu is called and any installed handler objects are called also. If one of the these additional objects are broken or missing, it slows the whole process to a crawl.

There is a utility that will allow you to see what context menu handlers are installed and it will also allow you to disable the individual context menu handler components.

As there are potentially numerous items, there can be a lot of choices. In my professional experience, if you have an older version of Office installed (Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003) sometimes the Microsoft Picture Manager can break the context menu.

Also look for any context objects that reference a tool but display "File Not Found" under the "Filename" column of the utility, as the operating system is trying to load something that is not there to load.

The utility is called ShellExView, it is created by NirSoft and can be found here at

Desktop Right Click Problem

This is generally an error from the registry, namely the context menu handlers (which is a shell extension handler that adds commands to context menus) If you can isolate when it started to occur and then maybe you can link it to a program you installed.

Are you having any having any other problems with your system emptying the bin, media apps??

I can suggest a progam that you can download that will allow you to see what extensions are in use and hopefully from this you will see if there are any left over commands from bad unistalls

A trigger is a special kind of stored procedure that automatically executes when an event occurs in the database server. A trigger is really an event handler. SQL Server allows users to create triggers (event handlers) for 3 types of events:
  • DML Event - Occurs when a DML (Data Manipulation Language) statement: INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE, is executed.
  • DDL Event - Occurs when a DDL (Data Definition Language) statement: CREATE, ALTER, or DROP, is executed.
  • Logon Event - Occurs when a user logins to the Server.
There are 3 different types of triggers (event handlers) based on the types of events they are triggered by:
  • DML Trigger - Executes in response to a DML event.
  • DDL Trigger - Executes in response to a DDL event.
  • Logon Trigger - Executes in response to a logon event.
