Question about Cell Phones

On the Motorola V3 the # key is used also to change rapidly from one type of ring to another. When you hold the # key right now it is set for either LOUD or SILENT. How do I go about changing from SILENT to VIBRATE ? Thanks

That is a negative..... The SILENT ring style does NOT allow any changes. You cannot scroll down the silent profile and make it VIBRATE.

There must be a program command to make the # key a VIBRATE key.

I will download the information as per your suggestion, but I do not believe that will do the trick.

Motorola V3 bought thru ATT has programmed from them that the # KEY when pressed, toggles from LOUD to VIBRATE and vice-versa.

The phone I bought thru AMZN that came unlocked blah.. blah... has the # KEY set to SILENT, so it toggles between LOUD to SILENT and vise-versa.

How can I reprogram the phone so that I make the # KEY to toggle between LOUD and VIBRATE ?

Thank you for your comments and thank you for your honesty.

I have an "old" ATT/Cingular Motorola V3 that has that feature on the #key. It is probably, as you say, a different OS on the phone.

Oh well, can't win them all. Thank you again

Just to be honest, it's not possible, but technically and perhaps it must be possible by customizing
the application data of the Phone. Which means you need to install a new customized o.s. I have never heard about it either, but I am only telling you the possibility. In fact, you can't change the default Loud and Silent switch. Other keys like, navigation keys, soft key, etc.. you can change, but # key function can't be modified or changed. Hope this clears your doubt.

Let me know if you need further help..

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Motorola just like other phones come with the silent feature on the # key. You can change the alerts for incoming calls and other events. Your changes are saved in the current ring style profile.
Go to settings > ring styles > silent scroll to calls then press change to edit from here you can select the vibrate option so that the phone vibrates when on silent mode.
here is a link to a user manual of your device
The same instructions above can be found on page 40.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Ringtones silent

Make sure that you didn't turn your phone to silent. Hold down the # key and see if it say silent or loud, soft, etc.. Make sure that the volume is turned to maximum, by using the top switch on the left hand side of your closed hand set. Make should that you have a ring tone assigned because if not nothing will work. Follow the below instructions

Menu-Settings-Ring Styles-Detail-Calls (Assign a tune)-click OK

This should get your ring tone back
