    Dear Rockmeister,
I cannot send my files as zip file because the PDF files are used in our website. I cannot convert them to jpeg images either because as you say all pages will go as individual pages while we prefer to send files as a set of pages. Our webmaster has not complaint yet but sooner or later he will ask us to reduce the size so that it will not take up too much space on their server. Do you have another solution?

    best regards,
    John Kwok(geeon@netvigator.com)

PDF files cannot be reduced unless you use compress software to zip the folder, and send.Although there is another way you can send them you can try to convert the pdf files to jpeg and this way compress the pictures so that they would be easier to send. Only problem with this is that the documents would be arranged as individual pages. If this method is not satisfactory let me know so i can find other alternatives.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Hi, Brice,

Do not change anything with resolution.

After selecting Scan to PDF, click on Advance Option. Here in the new window which opens at the top you can see PDF as selected. Beside this "Options" button will be there. Click on it and a slider will appear. It will be at maximum. so you need to move the slider to minimum or closer to that and click OK Try scanning.

This will reduce the file size. This should be helpful

Sean

Tip

Reduce the file size of a PDF file

Sometimes when we scan a document and the output file is PDF the file size is too big which is very difficult to send as an email attachment. This also happens when you convert word documents into PDF format.

This guide assumes that Adobe Acrobat Professional or Standard is already installed on your computer for PDF conversion.

On your current PDF File click on File then select Print

On the Print window select Adobe PDF as the Printer Name then click on the Properties Tab

On the PDF Document Properties Window under Default Settings drop down, select Smallest File Size.

Click on OK on all open windows. This will start the conversion process. When it's finished this will prompt you to save the file. It is advisable to save the file in a different file name rather than replacing the original copy.

After the conversion you may compare the file size of the original file and the reduced PDF file. The reduced file can now be sent on email attachments easily.

Hello, i want to increase the front size on my dymo label maker. can you tell me how. thanks

Hello,

For the LetraTAG see next page, pdf file (readable with Adobe Reader):

Look in the second column. Under "SIZE" see how to setup your font size: condensed | normal | extended | big caps.

Lexmark 7100 scan to .pdf makes file 23 times bigger than usual

> it should be 2-300K

Only if you use Adobe Acrobat (full version) to create the PDF.

All the "text" in the PDF will still be encoded as "scalable text fonts",
rather than as bitmaps.

Anything you "scan" will just be zero and one values,
and the size of the file will be proportional to the amount of "black" (and/or colour) in the scanned image.

I HAVE A LEXMARK X9350 AND WHEN I SCAN ITEMS, THE FILE SIZE IS HUGE. EG 1 PAGE = 3MB. HOW CAN I REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE FILE

See the manual for X9350 on page 119.

The software application must be used for saving files to a specific format that you can select from the menu on the computer.

Standard scans are often saved as bitmap with the extension .bmp .
Select another file format like jpeg with the extension .jpg or .jpeg, when you want to view the scans in photoview afterwards.

Another option is to save the file in a format that can be read with Adobe Reader, selecting .pdf format.

A last option is to reduce your file size, changing the scan settings:
( I wouldn't advise; this can result in unclear copies ):
Advanced scan settings can be changed on the computer as well:
See reducing e.g. "scan resolution" and "color depth" on page 120.

Use the link support for Lexmark 9300 series for more help.

I can not reduce the file size on a pdf. document. How might I do this?

If you are using the Standard version and not just Reader, then under File there is "Reduce File Size". It will resave the file smaller (you may want to rename so you keep both files).

Cannot compress a PDF

I assume you have tried the "reduce filesize" command. Try opening the file in Preview and print it - in the print dialog box select the pdf button, type a name and print. You get a file in the location you selected. This can reduce the size considerably.

I got your e-mail address.
I'm trying to send you the guide but the PDF file is big, so i'll have to use winzip to compress the file and make a bit smaller just to send it to you.
Once you get it, you will need to use winzip to open the file and to read it, you should use adobe acrobat reader 6.0

Reduce Photo

You can use Photoshop to reduce Photo size to a minimum size that can be mailed and u can retain the resolution by it. Its afantastic application. Open your image in photoshop and right clik it on the top of the title bar choose image size and change the resoution to 150DPI or lessere but not less than 72 DPI.

R u can go to save as command in the file menu and save it for Web option is better to reduce the size of the image to very smaller one which can be mailed.

Thanks
