Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Clearing the player and lost installation disk

I bought a new Zen and am giving my old one to someone. I want to erase all my stuff and give it to him blank. Anyone know how to do that? Also, I can't find the installation disk. Can that info be downloaded from somewhere so I don't actually need a physical disk? Thanks!!

You don't need a computer even! Just press the reset button and while pressing slide the power switch to the on position and hold. Then a "recovery menu" should appear then choose to format the disk.

If you want to, you should go back to where to where you got it, and give them an explaination, and they might give you a refund or a new mp3 player.

ZEN can be written to for a maximum of 0.5 GB [internal memory !]
ALERT ! This 0.5 GB is the internal memory
The files written to the internal memory will be erased after

Need the install stuff


Go to the Creative support site and do the automatic upgrades. Then it willl sync with media player so you can install music.

Creative Zen mp3 player - computer won't recognise it


The ONLY AND I REPEAT ONLY way to solve zen and computer recognistion problem is to have THE ORIGINAL INSTALL DISK that came with player.
The only things that will work is
1. Download Utorrent 2. Go to google or yahoo and search Creative (you'r player type ie zen touch, zen mossiac, zen x, etc.etc.) install disk torrent. 3. Try to find the one that is closest to the name of your player (ie. zen touch, mossiac, x) and download the install disk. 4. After the download finishes you should be able to run setup like you have the disk.
I downloaded the install disk torrent and after i finished downloading I simply found the setup file clicked it and installed the neccessary files, and presto my computer recognised my zen touch.
#2 If you can't find a install disk for you perticular player, you should try to see if maybe a friend or someone youknow has a creative mp3 player and ask to borrow there install disk, who knows it just might work for you'r player. Best of luck and I hope this will solve you zen player/computer problem

ZEN V PLUS Software Installation


I happen to overlook the warning to install first the software before connecting my new ZEN V Plus to my laptop. Now, whenever I connect my ZEN V Plus to my laptop, it cannot detect the device. Could someone help me what to do? Thanks a lot.

Recognising my Zen


  • connect the device to your PC.
  • Open Device manager (Right click on My Computer, select Manage, open Device manager)
  • Locate the MP3 player in the list
  • Right Click on the device and click Uninstall driver
  • Disconnect the nomad
  • Restart
  • DO NOT CONNECT THE DEVICE
  • run the installation process
  • Connect the device
  • Good luck

Zen Microphoto frozen..


Solution ID # 4794 from creative site ZEN Micro and ZEN MicroPhoto 1. Make sure that the battery is charged. 2. Detach the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto from the PC, and ensure that it is turned off. 3. Remove the battery. 4. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the ZEN Micro or MicroPhoto. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears. The following options will be displayed: -Clean Up : Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.Does not affect music files themselves. -Format (All):Caution! Erases all content!Save a copy of your player's content before formatting. -Reload OS/ Firmware : Caution! Erases your player's firmware. DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install. Reboot Reboots the device.
