Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

HP c5280 only prints green photos. All other printing is fine. I have put in new hp ink and photo paper. I have tried printing both from computer and with computer unplugged. A print from a website on photo paper prints correctly. Even a scan photo is green. I have unplugged power source both from back of printer and outlet, then replugged after many hours, still same green photo.

kevevans60, this problem exists even when printer is unplugged from computer, so I can't follow where uninstalling and reinstalling software and drivers would help. When I use it as a stand alone just to copy a photo, the result is mostly green. Copies of other documents cards, letters etc print fine with no problem. I did a semi reset(I think) where I unplugged the computer from all power and pc and waited till the next morning to plug in and try again. Same result. Photo paper prints fine from a website as long as printer classifies it as a print , not a photo.

This Problem is based on the Color Management so , The Perfect Solution for this problem is open the Photo or image etc in Adobe PhotoShop then goto Enhance->Adjust Color->Remove Color Cast , after removing the color cast , create a new layer for adjusting brightness , contrast & etc , then finally goto Image Size and change the DPI from 72 to 300 then save the image as JPEG or PNG etc , after saving the image close the Photoshop and open the image using Windows Photo Viewer and take the printout which will come as it is in the System

i have missed one more setting which is in photoshop goto Edit->ColorSettings then click on No Color Management and click OK .
I have Said This is the Perfect Solution because i have also faced this Greenish Color Problem , why because this problem will occur in only Photo Paper.

Do you mean colour printing is green or just photo's. Try uninstalling the software and the drivers for the printer. Then reboot and reinstall software and drivers, if you still have the same problem you could try a semi reset of the printer. If problem still there might be a new printer?

OK to do a reset for this printer is a little more than leaving it turned off for a day. I've found a link for you to watch and do what it shows you then let me know how you got on. Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHYOaGNdw...
    Good luck.

Photo Paper keeps jamming

It's the top rollers, the paper is too slick to get through them. I'm using HP photo paper, in an HP printer. It needs to do a 180, but gets jammed right where it prints, so the paper never makes it to the ink. It's an engineering problem by HP. I suggest putting a rough surface on the top edge of the photo paper, something removable but rough enough for the printer to pull the photo paper through.

Check to make sure all of your contacts are clean. The part where the cartridge meets the printer. Also check to make sure you have it set in the printer properties for photo quality paper. If this still doesn't work, I would suggest trying a different brand of paper, it may be the problem with the paper manufacturer.

How do I install an ink cartridge? HP photosmart c5280 All in one

To replace the print cartridges Perform the following steps to replace the print cartridges:
  1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on. CAUTION: If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the cartridges for changing. The HP All-in-One can get damaged if the print cartridges are not docked safely when trying to remove them.
  2. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One. Figure 1: Opening the print cartridge door c00956268.gif
  3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. If replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. Figure 2: Removing the print cartridge from the slot c00956269.gif 1 - Tri-color print cartridge slot 2 - Black and photo print cartridges slot
  4. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot.
NOTE: Remove the black print cartridge to install the photo or gray photo print cartridge, and store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an airtight plastic container.
  5. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, and carefully remove the black plastic tape by using the pink pull tab Figure 3: Removing the new print cartridge from its packaging c00956270.gif 1 - Copper-colored contacts 2 - Plastic tape with pink pull tab (must be removed before installing) 3 - Ink nozzles under tape CAUTION: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles. Also, do not re-tape the print cartridges. Doing so can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections. Figure 4: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts c00956271.gif
  6. Hold the print cartridge with the HP logo on top, and insert the new print cartridge into the empty cartridge slot. Make sure to push the print cartridge firmly until it snaps into place. If installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot. If installing a black, photo, or gray photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot. Figure 5: Installing the print cartridge c00956272.gif
  7. Close the print cartridge door. Figure 6: Closing the print cartridge door. c00956273.gif HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment page if a new print cartridge is installed.
  8. When prompted, ensure plain white paper is loaded in the input tray, and then press OK .
  9. The HP All-in-One prints a test page, aligns the print head, and calibrates the printer. Recycle or discard the page. A success or failure message appears.
NOTE: If colored paper is loaded in the input tray when aligning the print cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input tray, and then try the alignment again. If the alignment fails again, you might have a defective sensor or print cartridge. Contact HP Support at www.hp.com/support If prompted, choose your country/region, and then click Contact HP technical support.
  10. Press OK to continue.
