Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range
I have a GE Profile Spetra Gas oven/range that I inherited when I bought my house. I believe the stove was bought sometime in 2000. I can get the model if needed. When I tried to light the stove top the igniters click but the gas wouldn't flow right away. Initially it probably took 2-3 minutes to light. Then the problem started getting worse over time and now it probably takes 20 minutes to a half hour before the gas flows. Any ideas what would cause this? It's a natural gas stove and all the other natural gas appliances (fireplace, dryer) seem to work fine.
have 5 year old GE Profile on natural gas. When you turn on left knobs the right igniters click and the stove does not light. When you turn on the right knobs the right burners ignite properly. The left burners will light with a match! There are times when front 2 burners will not light, but the back will. Today, no burners will light. The oven heats up, just no top burners
If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:
If you hear clicking or sparking, go to Step 2.
If you do not, check your circuit breakers. If the circuit breaker is ok, we recommend that you schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule service online.
First remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Use a needle or paper clip to poke through the holes on the burner head. Re-assemble and try the burner.
Remove the burner grate, cap, and head. Even if it looks clean, wipe the tip of the electrode with a clean, dry paper towel and PRESS IT DOWN. Re-assemble and try the burner, again.
Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 3.
Check to see if the burner works, If not, then go to Step 4.

There is also an electronic ignitor box in the back of the stove, if the burners light with a match then I would check into ordering this little black box

There is nothing fancy about how the gas controls work on this unit. Do all burners give you the same problem? If so, it could be a kinked service hose or a service valve that has been partly shut. If it is limited to a single burner or two, the valve may be gummed up and should be replaced.

no gas flow sounds like a bad gas regulato on the stove. as for the 5 year old ge profile with ignitors not working, you need a part called a spark modual
