Amana ARB2214CW: Too cold at the lowest setting

This bottom freezer Amana worked fine for 5 years. Couple days ago it decided it would set itself at TOO COLD, even though we have it on the warmest setting (1).  This is happening at both the fridge and the freezer area.  Is it the regulator/thermostat unit? If so, is it too hard to be replaced by a handy guy (poor husband!)?

SOURCE: Fridge and Freezer losing cooling

we bought a f&p fridge freezer and in summer noticed it wasn't cooling and the freezer wasn't freezing, when the service guy came out he noticed our ducted air con was blowing onto the fridge, once we had redirected the air con outlet the fridge started working as normal, apparently f&p's work on air being convected around the cabinet of the fridge and air blowing on the fridge can effect the temperature of the convected air. hope this helps you or someone

yes the evap fan in the frezer should be running when the compressor is running[it may not for a minute or so as it starts up.Amana's are good for the connectors at the evap fan motor comming apart.the connectors are white and will look like its together but when you pull it will come apart.i would always cut the connector out and use a wire nut so wont happen again.if any other questions please email thru FixYa and i will be glad to help. God bless ,tom

You will need to check the=> 67003410 Damper Control If it is not working properly or blocked by ice from the freezer no mater what setting you choose it is going to get too cold or if closed too hot. Here is a link to how to test the auto damper=> HERE Not sure what the banging is caused by unless the fans are hitting their housings or ice formed around or near the fan blades, Can you tell me where the banging is coming from like freezer or below the refrigerator in the compressor area? ARB2214CW freezer not cold Set At coldest over night no change to temp.

It could be to cold , sometimes the Freon coils will freeze and that will make it not be as cold so turn the freezer down all the way or un plug for a day or so to let those coils defrost then turn it up again.

I have an Amana Refrigerator. It is a double door on top and a pull out freezer on the bottom. The freezer is working fine. The refrigerator light comes on but it is not cold and my fresh food is fading...

either the evaporator fan in the damper vent door isnt running to push cold air from the freezer up into the refrige compartment or the damper vent door between the freezer and refrige section is frozen shut and cannot open to allow cold air flow, you need to access the evaporartor coil in the freezer rear wall and check both the fan and door movement

Amana ABD2533DEB Bottom Freezer - Fridge not working

Sounds like the circulating fan is either gone or is going bad. This problem is hard to diagnose because sometimes the fan will run but not fast enough to circulate the air through the freezer and refrigerator. I would have your repairman look at this or if you have the know how then you can order the fan and replace it yourself.

Amana DRB2201CW refrigerator does not get cold

You may have an obstruction in the air vent from the freezer compartment to the frig .there should be an airflow adjustment next to the thermostat. Middle setting is recommended. Since you say the freezer is working properly, I cannot see any other possibility. hope this helps.
