You need to do a factory reset, follow these instructions:
Step 1. With your tablet turned off, press and hold the volume up (+) button. While holding the volume up (+) button, press the tablet's power button until you see the RCA logo with Nipper and Chipper on the screen. After a few seconds, the screen will change and you will see the Android bot on his back with a caution symbol above him.
Step 2. Now you are going to press and hold the tablet's power button, and without releasing the power button press down on the volume up (+) button. You should then see the screen below.
Step 3. Use the tablet's volume up (+) and down (+) keys to navigate to and select the "wipe data/factory reset" option. To select this option, press the power button.
Step 4. The tablet is going to ask you to confirm your selection. Use the tablet's volume up (+) and down (-) keys to navigate to and select "Yes - delete all user data." Once again, use the power button to select this option.
Step 5. At the bottom of the next screen, you will see "Data wipe complete." Press the power button to restart the system.
Password protection on kenwood is very good, you might need to pick up another head unit. Also after inputing the pass code you need to hold the fast forward or skip button to activate the code. I am verry familiar with that head unit and I dont know of any end arounds to bypass the security code. Get ahold of the origional owner and get their passcode or replace the headunit.
If you power on the unit, wait for it to display the "password [lock]". Then hold down the power button and menu button simultaneously, it will bring the keypad back up. But if you don't know your password and the default of 0000 doesn't work, you have to send it in to Clarion (for a nominal fee, I'm sure).
Sound like to me you got a problem with the capcitor inside the unit, if its under warrenty it will need to be serviced. If its not I ould be checking capcitors inside to make sure there not bulging leaking or otherwisen ot wroking correctly.
The unlock code usually only goes on if you previously put one on there. I would suggest calling Kenwood but there is a guy that claims he can fix this i have never tried this but you can.
i have the kvt-815dvd and i just did this this morning get any kenwood remote that has a 10 digit key pad on it push the reset button and you have to do this fast as soon as the lights come on saying there is power but before the display lights up press this in this sequence
77 then track next button do it quickly and it will work i tried it a few times a little slower and it didnt work so you have to do it pretty fast i didnt hit enter or anything i just pressed the digits it stands for kcar on the number pad so try it
Push and hold the power/vol button and the pause/play button at the same time for at least 10 seconds and the keypad will pop up... the factory code is 0000. question is how to reset the unit if the password has been changed and u don't know the new password...
Yo, I've got the perfect solution to your problem. Pull out the head unit from your dash. Then, remove the wiring harness carefully from the unit. Now, push in the yellow power wire (even jiggle it a little) making sure it's tightly snug the small port of the wiring harness. Then, plug the harness back into the unit and try turning it on. I've found that the wires come lose easily on this unit. hit me back up at Darkintel74@aol.com.
a friend of mine who is into bypassing stuff...found this method from sumwhere and it worked on my system...
u need to reset the system first by pressing the small button right next to <ATT> using a ball point pen or something pointed...
once it reboots,
keep the <SRC> button pressed till the display goes off, then while keeping the <SRC> button pressed, press the <ATT> button for 3 seconds, while keeping both of these pressed at the same time, press the small <RESET> button next to the <ATT> button using something sharp...
this hard resets the system and it reboots to a blank screen,
press the <SRC> button once and you have all the options working...
anything else, lemme know...
