Hi, I have just bought a black and decker K280 4 in 1 Sander. The problem is the dust is going everywhere except into the dust collector...I have a lot to do and don't want to lose time handing it back - any suggestions?

Sawdust is not going into the dust bag, could the sander be clogged?

that would be my first guess, also look for pieces of sanding belt that might have clogged the passageway

Need to convert pad to hook & loop sys. Is product made to fit this sander pad ?

Thought about what my orbital sander is like, then went to a craft store and bought a large sheet/pad of velcro and cut it to fit the 6" rubber disc pad glued it to the pad and then bought hook and loop sanding discs. And you wondering why I didn't use my orbital sander?? Because I needed to get into tight spaces and the orbital sander is a bit too large for this, plus it's too heavy to use working overhead .

Thanks for your site and for asking if problem still exists. Appreciate it.

Belt sander clogged dust collection

What have you been sanding?  Make sure the sander is unplugged. Remove the dust collector bag and use a flexible wire, like a coat hanger, to free the clogged material from the dust tube.  Replace bag and sand away!  Hope this solution works for you.  Michael Mittelsdorf

Dust collector

dust collectors usually work off the motor via a fan. Either the fan is broken or the bag is blocked up.If the bag is too dirty inside you don't get any airflow through the bag which can stop it collecting. A good wash should do the trick
