The RAM in the motherboard is not seated properly, it might have slightly moved out of the slot or the physical contacts is not proper. It can happen while moving the cpu or may be due to any other shocks. Open the CPU tower. Remove the RAM and place it back in the same slot after dusting the slot. It will work for sure 100%

Continues two beeps and wont boot

From the time it start beep it means either your ram or video card is not good. My recommendation would be checking to connections of the ram and the any other card you have installed on the motherboards or simply just dis connect them wait a couple seconds and connect them back properly and firmly.

Acer Travelmate beeps 4 times & wont boot

Sounds like a RAM problem. Best bet is to purchase a stick of RAM from a store that will let you try it and return it if the problem is not solved. The beeping is a BIOS error code that signifies that something is wrong with your hardware.

If you have 2 sticks of RAM installed try removing one of them and then if the beep code happens again try to swap them out.

Beeping then shuts down.

Hi Speedport!

This isn't something as simple as a dead / broken / malfuctioning battery is it ? Try removing your battery, plugging the laptop into the mains and running it idle. The Bios update you found may have been a coincedence...
