Just request your service provider to send you the internet and wap settings via OTA (Over the air). if you have a Blackberry you need to subscribe to BIS (Blackberry internet service) also provided by your network operator.

Because Telstra mobiles stopped using 2G sets I tried to purchase another mobile from my Aldi Store but was told they do not sell them now.

telstra switch of the 2 g network today
if you bought a 2g wireless in the last few months knowing that the network was being switched off ( your problem) or a retailer sold you a 2g phone knowing that it would be useless after today , you have recourse for a refund or a replacement phone that uses 3g or higher
woolworths (bigW ) jb-hifi, harvey norman, good guys, telstar shops, optus, vodafone ,allphones and heaps of other retailers sell 3g phones
you can get then contracted to a particular provide or free or pay as you go (prepaid )where you by a card every month
If you had a 2g phone on a telstra account you would have got a 3g complimentary phone free from telstar

I am thinking of purchasing an i68+ but I want to make sure it will work on the AT&T 3g network. I have been told that you can only use 3g phone with AT&T now, can anyone tell me if you have one on...

It will not work on any 3g network. It needs a non-3g sim card. Most networks carry at least one standard GSM frequency (900/1800/1900MHz) as well as 3g (2100MHz), so it will work if you get a 2g sim.

I am contemplating purchasing a i68+ iphone clone, but am scared it will not work with ATT. I live in Florida and it is a 3G network, which this phone apparently doesn't support. Will it work if I...

Jennifer, It should work. 2G and 3G are instrument functions. Any network that has 3G spectrum will also support 2g for people like you. The service provider can not discriminate against you for not using the higher service. With 3g they have to provide 2G as well. It can only be confirmed by the dealer you want to buy from.

When i dont wanna use the Internet, samsung Omnia continually connect to 3G so that my balance amount reduces too. Do u know how to disconnect to 3G

I have an LG VU with a sinilar problem, however I was able to search the internet to find a code to swtch back and forth between 2G or 3G. Simply having your phone on 3G means it is constantly searching for 3G signal, even if you are not actually on the internet, and therefore you battery life is considerably shorter than if you leave it on 2G. However, if you are in a large urban centre the 3G will probably be readily available, so the searching will be minimized. Your account balance will not be affected unless you actually log on to the internet using the 3G. Try searching the internet for a code which enables you to turn off the 3G for your Omnia.

G3 via G2

I've setup Nokia phones with 2G SIM's and I've had it running under GSM frequencies using a Optus 2G GSM SIM card; works fine. I've also put 3G SIM's in 2G Unlocked Phones and haven't had any issues before.

Have you tried putting in a 3G SIM and had problems?

Is your phone locked or unlocked?

Be careful of the terminology, some people get "3G" mixed up with the company "3" which is owned by Hutchison.

For example, if the phone is locked to 3, and you try and put an Optus/Voda/Telstra/AT&T SIM inside it will not work.

If it's just a Generic Branded 3G phone you should be fine.

Make sure your phone is unlocked, then purchase a SIM online or back at the AT&T store.

You should be able to take your phone back to the "stupid people" at the AT&T store and have them register a 3G SIM and you shouldn't have any problems; just tell them it's a unlocked phone.
