Question about Washing Machines

2 Answers

I have a Bosch Maxx 1000 front loader. The machine is not draining and I have attempted to open the filter to clean it out. I have opened it previously but it now seems to be jammed in - I can turn it about 120 degrees in either direction and then it wont move any further. Do you have any suggestions on how I might be able to move it/dislodge it or is there another way to clean the filter? If I can't do open it will this be something that an on-site repairer would be able to resolve? thank you

Thank you very much for the advice. We were successful! My husband and I were able to remove the hose and found the problem - one of my baby's socks was jammed in there. We have removed it and can also open the filter cover.

But we seem to have caused another problem in our attempt to fix the first one. When I put the machine on a wash cycle as the water started to come through there was a 'pop' and the active light went off, the water stopped coming through. I then turned it all off, waited for the door to unlock and then set it to wash again. This time the engine is running, the light switches to and the machine drum is turning in each direction but no water is coming through. Appreciate your help once again. Thanks

Thanks for the further suggestion. The reason fr the delay in following up is that I called a service man who came today. We are not confident in the recommendation he provided - the repairs are quoted at over $500.

At first he said that the computer would need to be replaced. We have a WFL2000 which I didn't think had a 'computer' or high end electronics unlike the digital display models. When my husband claimed that it was a computer but rather a fuse the service man said it was a fuse and the computer. We can see the black scorching on the fuses on the component right above the water intake pipes. On the quote for the additional work it says that it requires a inlet valve and main pcb.

The machine still drains and spins. Would it be able to do this if the main control unit had failed?

    Thanks for the advice!

Hi

Good that the previous issue was resolved...if not water is coming in then it might be an issue with the water inlet valve that is bad and should be replaced. You'll have to check the inlet hoses for any clogs and replace the part that is bad. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

You are right....I dont think the main PCB is bad, its just the fuses as the pop came from them

Hi,
If you are having that much trouble getting the filter out then it seems pretty obvious that there is something stuck in there.
I would keep working it and see if you and little by little get it to go further till you can remove it. If that is not getting you anywhere then the only other thing you can do is to take the machine apart enough to get the hoses of and then completely remove the filter to get out what is stuck inside through the hose openings.
You can do this if you are mechanically inclined or you could call for onsite repair and a repair person will have to do this,,,

The hose can be removed for inspection and cleaning but complete maintenance includes disassembly and inspection of the pump for removal of debris or that odd piece of clothing. Yes, it can happen!

You don't. Washing machines don't have a handy accessible filter...

Check the owner's manual that came with the machine.

The softner tray on my front loader Maxx Clasic BOSCH does not drain - it fills with water which, together with softener, remains in the tray. Heeeeelp!

Hello, W/D here.

Remove the tray, and clean the tubes on the bottom side of the dispensers and the mating tubes on the machine. This should put you right.

Best regards, --W/D--

My Bosch Maxx 2000 WFO 2060 is leaking from the bottom. Could it be that a filter somewhere needs to be cleaned? If so where is the filter located?

The filter is usually located at the bottom right front of washer, sometimes behind a removeable cover, or a drop down flap.If you can locate it, then unscrew it anti-clockwise to remove and clean it.
There is also a possibility that there could be a hole or tear in the door seal so check the seal as well.
Hope this is of some help to you .
