Question about Dell Studio XPS 435 PC Desktop
That's probably someone who pranked you by setting scripts or programs on your machine to do that. Just run dtrace or something to find out what programs are looking at media status (for 'closed') and decide whether any of them aren't familiar. Depending on your OS it could be a pretty small script or program....
It may on the other hand be something familiar whose backup function you haven't used or addressed in a while....
