I just solved this problem. You have to remove the lense and adujst 3 screws. It may be delicate adjustment (about 0,5 to 1mm) but I solved the problem. Was not that easy to remove the lense, access is from the fron after removing the front panel. Cheers.

My MP610 powers up, but only projects a weak light, not the usual start-up screen and menu. It has not been used for about 4 months. The bulb only has about 200 hours or less of use. Thanks.

Can you get a menu to come up even though it may be very faint.
Does the lamp appear very bright through the side of the unit like it used to in the past.
Take the lamp out and check if it looks Ok, and also if the glass plate that the light first goes through is clear.
Check if there is anything in the lens unit that might be a problem like dust or moisture.
Apart from that if the unit hasn't been dropped and a mirror inside hasn't shifted then you may have to check the optics system.

How do you open a BENQ MP610 projector to replace the light? What tool do you use? Thanks Marty

I just replaced my lamp for the same beamer. Took me a while to figure out how, but if you know how, it is easy. Turn the beamer on its back. In the middle, you will see a black rubber (small), it covers a hole and a screw is in the whole. Pull the small bblack rubber out. Unscrew the screw. A small cover will come loose. And there is the lamp, You have to pull out the power cable, and than only one little screw that mounts the lamp to the inside of the beamer.

It's easy!
Hope you will succeed,

BenQ MP610 Multimedia Projector Problem

I don't have the manual on this one, but in general if the lights indicated that the lamp needed to be changed because of hours of use, then until the lamp hours have been reset, the lights will remain. The owner's manual should have the procedure for resetting the lamp hours. Try that and update this if you still have a problem. Also, check to be sure that the lamp access door is closed completely. There are safety switches that get activated when the door is not installed correctly.

Benq MP610 does not project any picture

OK , then this is positively a Mainboard problem.

Check if this unit is still under warranty as the BenQ MP Series came out with a standard 3 year warranty and in which case will cover the replacement of this part.

If this problem happen with a particular laptop then I suggest that you you change the setting of the laptop you are using. Go to Start=>Control Panel=>Performance and Maintenance=>Power OPtion=>Power Option Propreties=(click on Hibernation Tab and uncheck Hibernation box).
While on the Power Option check the time on the SYSTEM HIBERNATION.
