Just FYI cristitoma84, if you put the key in the ignition and do not turn it to the on position but leave it in the ignition and hold the mileage reset stick until it says something along the lines of sof 4.0 it will reset all of the dash lights and will fix my problem. It did fix it. :)

I was thinking this would be big bucks at the repair shop, maybe a new speedometer. But this fix worked great. Thanks!

Changed battery now the speedometer and the tachometer won't work,

Check the instrument cluster fuse located underneath the drivers side steering wheel. Flip over the fuse box cover lid and you will find a diagram showing what fuse controls your speedometer cluster. Remove the fuse and replace with the same number amp

I changed the front brakes and my battery died. Jumped the van, now the speedometer does not work. 2003 Chrysler T

sit in the drivers seat close the door. with the key off hold the trip odometer button in then while holding the button in turn the key on. if done correctly this will put the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) into a self test. if the speedometer does not move like the rest of the gauges during this test the MIC must be replaced. if the speedometer does move it is likely your problem will be fixed, however, if the speedometer does move but it does not start working properly then further diagnostic will be needed.

Speedometer has quit working.

The voltage of your car's battery and the surge from the other car's battery when you jumped might have been enough to blow the fuse on the electronic speed sensor, or the sensor itself, try locating the fuse box and search for anything to do with sensors or so, if there's nothing wrong there it's the sensor itself, and you'll need to take it to a workshop.

Pull any fuses marked stereo/radio and see if that helps. If insurance is involved, take it where new stereo getting installed & have them do it for you if your stumped.
