You have to have a 3-Phase Service. It can be use for domestic use but you would have to have a 3-phase service connected to the house.......If you wanted to still use the condensing unit You would have to replace the compressor with a Single Phase compressor and add start conponents for the compressor.... Good Luck

Three Phrase is usually only avail at a commercial
business

You would need a complete additional service to the house just for the AC
They would have to install a new transformer on the pole

I would suggest replacing the motor if that is the only issue,
to single phase 240 volt

What ton is this carrier condenser unit

Over here in my neck of the woods an apartment one bedroom would have a 1.5 ton unit, a 2 bedroom house 2 to 2.5 tons a 3 or 4 bedroom home would be a 3 ton or 3.5 ton. Without numbers no one can tell exactly what you have there. Figured i could give you an idea. If you have 8 foot walls go by a ton for each bed room in the house.

I bought a used QY_DUAL4C ice machine with remote condenser, but the condenser is 3 phase, and the building is single phase wiring. What can I do?

you'll either need to have the electric company run a three-phase line, or install an electric converter (aka inverter) to make single phase act like 3

What is the HP rating if a 3 ton air conditioner?

Hi, this depends on the compressor that is installed in this unit. It may be a Copeland scroll, a Tecumseh, its hard to say. Most compressors are around 2 hp for a 3 ton unit. On the data plate it will tell you the h.p. of the blower and condenser fan motors such as 1/4 h.p., or 1/3. If you can get the name and model numbers from the top of your compressor, you can call a a/c, Refrigeration parts house, wholesale and they will have it in there manuals. The B.T.U. rating for your compressor is 36,000. There are 12,000 BTU's per ton of cooling, this is something that almost no one knows, but now you do. If it were a smaller unit such as a 2 and 1/2 ton, it would be 30,000 B.T.U.'s. You can look at the model number of a unit and you will see numbers like this, 024, 2-ton, 030, 21/2 ton, and 036 a 3 ton unit and so on. Your compressor alone will be in the range of a 2 horse unit, which ever the brand of compressor they installed in it. Please don't forget to rate me on this as I know you will be kind. I will be here if you ever need help on repairs or trouble-shooting your unit in the future, just use my user name below.

Does the orifice, which needs to be installed in the inside unit of an a/c for a house, come with the outside condenser? I had an a/c system installed and an orifice was never installed. the original...

The orifice is the metering device inside the evaporator coil and comes installed from the factory in the coil itself. Some condensers do come with orifices taped to the side of the unit, but they only do that to ensure you have the right size orifice. Sometimes you will have a 3 ton evaporator and a 2.5 ton condenser. In this case you want to change the orifice so that it meters the refrigerant correctly. But if you have a 3 ton condenser and a 3 ton coil, which is normal, you don't have to do anything. So to answer your question, your coil already came with a orifice inside and nothing needs to be done unless there are two different sized units as described above. Hope I didn't bore you too much and helped you with your question!

Not cooling as it should

If you have a crushed, kinked, or otherwise restricted fitting in the system, it's possible the cooling may be affected. Pressure readings can be thrown off, and refrigerant flow can be inhibited.

Since the unit is new, you should have a complete parts and labor warranty, so ask the installer what the reason is that the system doesn't provide the cooling you were probably promised when they sold it to you. They should have taken into account the location of the condensing unit, the size and insulation in your house, indoor and outdoor conditions, your geography/climate, and any other load factors before selling you the system.

I have a Ruud Model # UACC-036JAS. Any idea on

Hi, yes the number you are showing me 036 indicates its a 3 ton unit. For every ton of cooling, you will have 12,000 btu's of cooling. 36 divided by 12=3 ton unit. Its showing me also its a Ruud Handler 2.0 ton which would be a Model# UACC-024JAS? If your mobel number is the one you gave me, UACC-036JAS, this is a 3 ton unit, absolutely no questions. I hope I have been of help to you. I am a licensed air conditioning / Refrigeration /Heating Contractor. Let me know if I have been of help.
Sincerely,

PS If this is a split system with the indoor air handler and condenser outdoors, both coils must be the same tonnage for it to work for you properly. You can't have a 2 ton indoor evaporator coil with a 3 ton condensing unit.

Hi, this is an odd voltage 380 volts. Is it a 3 phase unit? To get a 220 volt 50hz condenser fan motor, you will have to go through a refrigeration/air conditioning parts house and order this. 60hz you would have no problem finding one in stock. Carrier is a good unit, and have been around for many years. You shouldn't have any problems locating one.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7
PS You will need to go through a wholesale parts house.

Voltage 1phase or 3 phase 240 volts BTUs M# 585epo36o75

Looking at the model number, it appears to be a 3 ton. (36,000 btu) Most all residential units are single phase and most all commercial are 3 phase. One way to tell, look to see if the compressor has a capacitor. 3 phase never use capacitors on the compressors as they are not needed. Some residential units have a "Dual" capacitor. That is, it has 3 terminals, 1 common, 1 for condenser fan motor, and 1 for the compressor. Also, this info should be printed on the unit's lable.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

Need info for RUDD upflow oil furnaces

Contact your nearest Ruud DISTRIBUTOR, usually The Noland Company, and ask them if they could go into the historical documents and print out or send you the files for the wiring, spec's and parts breakdown. From the model number, that unit is rated for 3 tons of a/c. You can find a 3 ton coil that will fit in the space and get a straight cool condenser of 3 tons cooling and swap thermostats so it brings on the furnace and fan in heat and the condenser and fan in cooling. Or just add a simple White - Rogers model 444 for the cooling. Ron
