How do i change an ink cartrige in a canon 160 printe

The Canon Pixma inkjet printer is an all-in-one printer, scanner and copier capable of printing high-resolution photos. One handy feature is a slot for a memory card so you print photographs directly from your camera. It can also print completely without any border for full-sheet photos. Printing photos and other high-fidelity documents uses up ink more quickly, and you will probably need to replace at least one of your cartridges every three to six months, a process that should take you about three to five minutes.

1.urn on the printer and check the LCD screen for an indication of which ink cartridges are low. Note that recycled ink cartridges sometimes read "Ink low" even when they still have ink, so print a test page if you're not sure.

2.Expose the ink tray by lifting the entire LCD control panel, which is attached to the underside of the copier tray.

3.Pull out the used ink cartridge by pulling straight up from the print head, and dispose of them safely and carefully by putting them in a sealed bag.

4.Remove gently any packaging from the new ink, after giving it a few shakes. Pull off the protective tab on the cartridge, insert the new cartridge into the print head and push down until you feel a click. Close the printer lid and let the printer reset the ink tray.

5.Print a test page to make sure the new ink works. If it doesn't, you may have forgotten to remove the protective tab under the cartridge.

Printer says paper is jammed but cant find any paper to remove

Open all possible doors and panels and look for any kind of debres, even a small piece of paper will register. Verify that all the doors and panels are secure. If this still registers a paper jam, push and hold the power button for several seconds to attempt a reset, unplug the printer and leave it for a few minutes. Remove all paper from the paper tray before starting it up again. This will hopefully reset the printer and stop the paper jam message. After starting the printer, put the paper back in the tray, make sure the ink cartridges are fully seated and try to print a test page.

Let me know if this solved the problem. If not, I will assist you further.

Reading no paper paper tray is full

Instructions
  1. Check the display for an error message. If the display reads "Clearing paper from printer," the engine has detected a jam and is attempting to eject the jammed pages automatically. These pages will often be blank.
  2. Check the display for "Performing PRINT/STOP TEST" or "Performing SERVICE TEST." Either of these messages indicates that the printer is going through a test procedure that may eject blank pages.
  3. Reduce the amount of paper in the input tray if the printer is feeding multiple blank sheets at a time. The printer will pull extra pages through if the input tray is overfilled.
  4. Replace the paper in the input tray with the correct size if needed. If the 4600 printer detects the paper as an incorrect size for the print job, it may eject the paper without printing anything on it.
  5. Replace the ink cartridges if certain colors are blank on the page. Replace the black cartridge if printing a black text document that is coming out blank. The printer may attempt to print even if the ink level is low or empty, but will unable to print anything on the page, causing it to come out blank.
  6. Remove the sealing tape from newly installed cartridges. The tape covers the print heads and should be removed before installing the cartridges. If the tape is left on, it will prevent ink from getting on the pages as they print.
  7. Press the "Check mark" button on the control panel to enter the printer menu. Run a diagnostic so the printer can attempt to determine the cause of the blank pages printing. Press the up or down arrow to select "Diagnostics." Press the "Check mark" button. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "PQ Troubleshooting." Press the "Check mark" button. The printer runs a diagnostic and returns to a ready state when done.

When i replace with new original 818 color and black/white ink cartaiges the ink status show as b/w full and color iswith"x" mark(no ink) and printer can"t take paper i also re load the driver software

If there is an "X" on the color cartridge indicator then there is a problem with it. If you have removed the plastic tape that covers the part that connects to the computer and you still have this problem then the cartridge is defective and needs to be returned to the store and exchanged for another that is good. Exchange the cartridge and install the replacement. This should solve the problem with the printer not recognizing a full color ink cartridge.

You mentioned that the printer cannot take paper. Please clarify what happens when you load the paper tray and try to print? Are you loading paper one page at a time using the external feeder or are you loading the paper tray full with paper before trying to print? If your loading page by page or filling the tray with only a few sheets of paper then try loading a bigger amount of approx 1/2" of paper. It is easier for the printer to grab paper when the try has a good amount in it. If it still will not load the paper when the tray is full and inserted correctly, please advise what happens when you try and print - exactly? Does the printer respond to the print command sent from the computer? Does it make attempts to load the paper and then fail and stop? Does it pick up paper and then show a paper jam? Does the printer do anything when trying to print from your computer? Answer these questions and I will help you solve this problem right now.

Hi I've got an epson stylus dx4400 printer. The printer is a little strange because two of the ink cartridges are reading full, even though one of them is completley empty and the other is about a quater...

There is no sensor that reads actual quantity of the ink in the printer. The measurements are based on calculations how many pages are printed and what has been printed after last ink cartridge replacement. Probably the printer has been tricked that there is a new ink cartridge, but there is the old one.
Often a small object can fall in the paper tray and go down the paper path, preventig paper from picking up and moving. Rotate the printer with the front side up and try with thin and long flat skrewdriver to rise the thin long rollers that hold the paper to the feed roller, one after another. These rollers are held there by springs. If someting is stuck behind them, it should fall down. I've found there coins, pensils, rullers, paper-clips and so on.

I have ink leaking and spraying inside the machine!!

Open the cover. Take a lot of tissues. Find where your cartridges are usually located, when they are not printing. There should be a sponge there, which is probably full of ink (that's normal). All you need to do is wipe your printer, especially the sponges. If the cartridges are also leaking, take them out of your printer, put them on some tissue, so the excess ink can drain on the paper. Check the cartridges after several minutes, if they are still leaking, leave them again on some paper or tissue, until they stop leaking.
Hope that helps!
