Web Pages not showing correctly

Update all of your plugins, and windows itself. Some sites may not display correctly because of a slow connection too.

Black background web pages

Step 1:
Web Pages That Do Not Display All Colors

Web pages that do not display all the appropriate colors have either a browser-related issue, monitor display problem, Windows comparability glitch or incorrect web pages Internet and HTML settings. More than likely, a setting dealing with your contrast ratio in Windows is the culprit. Once this issue is resolved, your web pages will display properly and accurately like they were designed to from the start.

Click on "Start" and navigate to the right pane and click on the "Control Panel." Click on "Ease of Access." Click on "Ease of Access Center." Click on "Set Up High Contrast" (one white and black box overlapping each other.) Check or uncheck "Turn on or off High Contrast when left ALT + left SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN." Click on "Apply" and close the Ease of Access Center. Press "ALT + left SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN" to turn on high contrast. Open your browser and go to a website to determine if color is restored to normal.

Only get 3/4 display screen on monitor

Your post is not very clear on the exact problem you are having. If your issue is that some web pages have large amounts of blank white space to the right or both left and right of the web page, then the issue is you have a high resolution LCD and the web page was written using page frames. (If this is the case, the web page is being displayed as designed and there is no fault to the system)

If that is not the issue, then post specific details as to what you are seeing and what you are doing when the issue occurs.

Monitor image size

There is nothing wrong with the monitor, the issue is that the web page you are looking at is designed for a lower resolution than you LCD is set for (Web pages are normally designed for 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768) you like have a wide aspect ratio monitor.

As I sit here writing this on my 12" wide aspect LCD I have a 2" wide white space on each side of my screen due to my 1280 x 800 aspect ratio.

The issue is one of WEB PAGE DESIGN not the fault of your computer video settings. The web page is written using page frames and fixed aspect ration settings to ensure that the page displays properly regardless of monitor type.

If you had a high end LCD (WUXGA 1920 x 1200), the web page would fill the upper left 1/4 of the screen.

If you lower the resolution of your display, then you'll have fuzzy icons and text, so essentially, get used to it.

Eventually, wed design will catch up with current display technology.
