I did a neet trick to get my ipod to play in my old volkwaggon it's only got a am/fm radio
they make these little converters that plug into your cigarette plug that has a dock port for your ipod then you simply tune the radio to 88.5 and wow you got the ipod on the car radio it costs about 20 bucks got it at advance auto parts store ohhh and it charges the ipod too
I was wandering the same thing, but another option is a AM/FM Transmitter. you can buy one at stores like best buy. You plug your Music Device (iPhone, iPod..etc.) into it and it transmits it to a AM or FM band so you can tune into it with the AM/FM function and listen to your music so you dont hvae to buy a new radio.
I have a 2003 Mazda MPV that has the stereo that you could add a cassette deck or MD to...I do not have either, but there is a button for it. I found a guy on the internet that made a chip that plugs into the back of the radio and has a 3.5mm jack on it that will play when you push the cassette/md button on the radio. It is great....sounds just like one that came from the factory.
Even though your current radio has an AUX button the radio is not programmed to utilize it.
There is no 'easy' way to add the '07 Job 2 and later year model's factory Aux input. You will need to buy an aftermarket solution. Something like this http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=821&CategoryID=24
Instead use a radio adaptor where you would set you radio to a particular channel. The adaptor emits a signal correspondent to that radio signal and allows you to listen to your iPod.
The aux is for the cd player, there is no wire in the back for an aux. But you can buy an adapter that splices into the back which allows you to use the stereo to control your ipod. It only works because you could have a 6 cd changer stock, so it uses those controls.
