SOURCE: The bottom element on my Whirlpool GOld

Hi, Are you equipped to check the bake element to determine if it's the problem ? You may be able to see if it has a burnt section on the element via a visual inspection. If so it is the problem, if not you'll need a multimeter or a pro technician to come and inspect it. With a meter you want to check the element for continuity (unplug the range and remove one of the wires at the element first) I will add the price of a bake element is cheaper than phoning for service "IF" you can change it yourself. Hope that help's you at least reach a place to make an informed descision on whether to attempt a repair on your own or call a pro. Thank's for visiting fixya. Please take a second to rate the info I provided for you today. Good luck in whichever way you choose. Macmarkus :)

What are the sensor resistance numbers for a whirlpool oven Model GJP85802?

You will need to do the 10 minute test. Preheat to 350 degrees. Then test the oven sensor and see if the ohms goes down from 1650 ohms. If not, replace the sensor.
Here is the sensor if you need it.

Whirlpool Gold Electric convection oven does not heat up.

Check for a broken wire or even broken element on top and bottom of unit. To do this, the unit must be unplugged or otherwise removed from power completely, then remove the screws that hold each heating element in place and gently pull out and inspect the wire connections. You should have just enough slack to check them. There should also be just enough slack to strip the wire clean to make the new connection to the heating element.

If the repair has been done before, you may need to fish a new lingth of high temp wire into the location.

Microwave runs, but not heating. Whirlpool Gold

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can download Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions (very handy when removing the oven form the wall for parts replacement) here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Bottom heating element is not heating up. When I test the leads with a voltmeter I am getting 40 v....is that a normal range?

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY REQUIRE A BAKE ELEMENT AND YOU SHOULD BE TESTING FOR CONTINUITY AND NOT VOLTAGE. WITH YOUR POWER SUPPLY DISCONNECTED TEST THE CONNECTIONS OF THE BAKE. IF THERE IS NO READING THE ELEMENT IS GONE. QUITE OFTEN PEOPLE WHO PUT FOIL UNDERNEATH THERE ELEMENT WILL HAVE RE-OCCURRING PROBLEMS WITH THIS.I CAN GET YOU A PART NUMBER FOR THE ELEMENT IF YOU CAN SUPPLY A MODEL NUMBER. IT SHOULD BE LOCATED INSIDE THE DRAWER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OVEN ON A STICKER OR A PLATE. HOPE THIS HELPS.

THANKS

Oven heat

There is a bottom hidden element that is the main element used for baking and cleaning. If its not heating then the element has gone bad and needs replacing. If you have a volt meter then you can confirm this by checking the voltage between the two terminals sticking out of the rear of the range. There should be 240vac across the two. If you have that then you need a new element if you don't then you need a new control board.
