Thanks for the tips! Another question about my Ryobi weedeater: What type of oil and gas is best to use (30 weight, regular gas, ?), and what is the ratio of the mixture? Please let me know. I think I need to change the fuel I have in the unit before trying to start it again. Thanks for your help! Get back to me asap! :-)

Hi, it has to be a 2 stroke oil for air cooled engines. Mix with regular gas at a ratio off 25 to 1. Regards Phil.

I have a Ryobi 4-cycle S430 weedeater. Do you use regular gas? If so,what type of oil do you use?

A 4-cycle engine requires regular gasoline whereas a 2-cycle engine requires oil to be mixed with the gas.
A 4-cycle engine requires regular gas in the gas tank and engine oil in another tank. Your owners manual will tell you what grade of oil to pour into the oil tank compartment of the weed-eater.
A 2-cycle engine requires regular gas plus a certain amount of 2-in-1 oil mixed with it. The oil that is mixed into the gas container and shaken together to "mix" the gas and oil before pouring into the gas/oil tank helps to lubricate the moving parts of the engine like the piston movement between the piston and the pistons' wall known as the cylinder wall. Also the oil aids in the creation of a tight seal which causes compression to occur that is responsible for optimum operation of the engine itself. It also provides lubrication to the piston rings and reduces friction as the piston rings push against the cylinder wall.
4-cycle engine oil can be purchased at any oil store like Canadian Tire/Sears/Napa Auto Parts. Just ask for oil for your weed-eater and let them know that your engine requires 4-cycle engine oil. I am sure the service clerk will point you in the right direction.
I hope this helps!Have a great day!

What kind gas does the 5.5 hp chipper shedder take

Small engines can run on anything supreme or regular, some say they can build up carbon deposits with the lower grades, but I have never seen evidence of it. I don't use additives as they can separate out in some cases clogging the carburetor over a few cool months. I add a couple spoonfuls of 10-40 or 30 weight oil to my gas even if it is not prescribed to protect the upper end under hard use. I like Pennzoil, Havoline, Valvoline since reading a lab comparison years ago. It will fire up anyway with a dash of oil mixed in. I use 10-40 weight oil for all weather use in mowers, chainsaws, weedeaters, chippers...

What type of oil do i add to the gas for a ry30240 weedeater?

Any type of 2-cycle engine oil will work fine. Just make sure it is 2-CYCLE engine oil, and not motor oil! Also, mix it at a ratio of about 1 part oil, to 40 parts Gas. Hint: The Ryobi equipment seems to like the 87 octane better than the low grade fuel, especially in high temps! Good luck!

Does a Ryobi trimmer S430 not use a fuel mixture?

the Ryobi S430 is a 4 cycle engine. As such it has an oil reservoir which takes 30 weight oil. It uses straight gasoline in the gas tank.

What kind of oil do i use for a ryobi tiller

If it is a 2 cycle, use 2-cycle oil. If it is a 4-cycle use the oil mentioned in the manual. If no manual, I would use a 30 weight oil. Good luck...Lee

Weedeater blower will not prime

The primer bulb sucks fuel from the tank to the carb. When the carb has enough fuel the remainder is sent back to the tank. When you replaced the fuel line did you use the exact length of line and did you re-install the filter. On some of the trimmers the filter is weighted and holds the line in the fuel. Good luck...Lee
